Brennan and Fitzpatrick Named to All-ACC Team

This marks the second consecutive year that both golfers earned all-conference honors.
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Wake Forest men's golf sophomore Michael Brennan and senior Alex Fitzpatrick were named to the All-ACC team, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.
The reigning ACC Champions have now had 86 All-ACC honorees in program history, ranking second in conference history and this marks the 13th time in the Head Coach Jerry Haas era that multiple Demon Deacons have been named to the all-conference team.
This is the second consecutive year that both Brennan and Fitzpatrick earned All-ACC honors. They also both went on to be named to the PING All-East Region team a season ago.

Brennan, who was most recently named to the Arnold Palmer Cup Team in April and is set to represent Team USA this summer, has been placed on both the Fred Haskins Award and Ben Hogan Award Watch Lists, given to the best player in collegiate golf.
He made his PGA Tour debut at the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club after winning the Genesis Collegiate Showcase earlier in the week.
Brennan, who currently sits at No. 18 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, captured individual victories in back-to-back events during the fall season at the Old Town Club Collegiate Invitational and the Colonial Collegiate, the second time in his career he had back-to-back tournament wins. He is one of just 12 Demon Deacons to have four or more tournament wins in his career.
Through the ACC Championship, he has a team-best 70.19 stroke average, which would rank fifth in program history. In ACC Championship match play, Brennan provided points in both the Semifinal and Final while also tying for third during the stroke play portion of the tournament.
The Leesburg,Va. native has been the top Demon Deacon on the leaderboard after 19 of 27 rounds through the ACC Championship. Additionally his round of 62 (-8) in the opening round of the Old Town Club Collegiate Invitational is the second-lowest score in program history and tied the sixth lowest score relative to par in program history.

Fitzpatrick currently ranks third in program history with a career stroke average of 71.10 following the ACC Championship.
He captured his individual title at the Old Town Club Collegiate Invitational while also helping Wake Forest win the team title by a tournament record score. Also during the season, he made his PGA Tour debut at the Valspar Invitational in March.
En route to the Deacs earning their ACC-record 19th conference title, Fitzpatrick provided the clinching point in the Demon Deacons 2022 ACC Championship while also grabbing a point in the Semifinal win.
Earlier in the year, he finished as the runner up at the Golf Club or Georgia Collegiate. His round of 64 (-8) in the opening round of the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate is tied for the 11th-lowest score in program history and tied the sixth lowest score relative to par in program history.
In total, the Sheffield, England native, who currently ranks No. 7 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings and No. 7 in the PGA Tour University rankings, has totaled six top-20 finishes including most recently tying for 19th finish during stroke play of the ACC Championship.
