
Demon Deacons Enter Final Round Inside Cut Line

Three Deacs are in the Top 25.
FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The Wake Forest women's golf team jumped one spot on the leaderboard with the second-lowest round in the field on the second day of play. The Deacs are currently inside the cut line by five strokes and ten strokes off the lead.
Wake Forest is second in scoring on par fives through 36 holes and fourth on par fours. The Deacs are second in the field in birdies, with 36. Rachel Kuehn and Lauren Walsh are second and third in scoring on par threes and Kuehn is first on par fives. Kuehn is also second in birdies in the field with 11 through two rounds.
Kuehn paced the Deacs for the second day in a row with three birdies on her first nine holes, including a birdie on her first hole of the day. She recorded two more on the second nine before the round was over and is currently in a tie for third place on the individual leaderboard at four under par.
Carolina Chacarra was again right behind Kuehn with two birdies on her first nine and two more on her second nine. Both on the second nine came on the par-four 10th and the par-five 18th. She joins Kuehn inside the top 10, currently sitting in a tie for ninth.
Lauren Walsh rounded out the Deacs in the top 25 today as she is currently T25 at four over par. After her first birdie on the par-five seventh hole, Walsh made the turn and recorded three birdies in a row on holes 10, 11 and 12. She had one more on the par-three 16th before the day was done.
Final Round
The final round will begin Wednesday morning at 8:00 a.m. CT. Wake Forest will tee off the first hole beginning at 8:00 in 11-minute intervals and will be paired with Texas A&M and UTSA for the second-straight day.
The top four teams and the top two individuals on non-advancing teams at the end of play on Wednesday will advance to the National Championship May 20-25 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.
