
Wake Forest Preps for Second Season Meeting Against Wildcats in NCAA First Round

Action in Athens starts on Saturday for the Deacs.
ATHENS, Ga. – The 2022 postseason journey continues for No. 23 Wake Forest women's tennis tomorrow (May 7), as the Demon Deacons (16-10) take on No. 40 Northwestern (14-9) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. First serve is set for 10 a.m. on Saturday morning.
Wake Forest is back in Athens, Georgia for the fifth time in six years, competing on the grounds of the University of Georgia at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.

Scouting the Opposition
The Wildcats went 8-3 in conference play this spring while finishing undefeated at home (8-0). The team has been led by a senior presence in No. 82 Clarissa Hand (16-15). Last week, the Wildcats defeated Nebraska before falling to Michigan in the quarterfinals in the Big Ten tournament.
Northwestern is making its 26th consecutive NCAA tournament appearance.
