Liska became the first Demon Deacon in program history inducted into Team USA Field Hockey’s Hall of Fame after an astounding career with the United States' national team. She is a three-time Olympian (2008, 2012, 2016), and was captain of the 2012 (London) and 2016 (Rio) Olympic teams.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Wake Forest field hockey legend and hall of famer Lauren Crandall Liska was inducted into the USA Field Hockey Hall of Fame as a part of the organization's 2022 class at Team USA's 100-Year Anniversary Celebration.
"I am honored and humbled to be inducted into the USA Field Hockey Hall of Fame," Crandall Liska said. "Being a team sport athlete my entire life makes it a bit uncomfortable to receive an individual honor, especially since I know for a fact I would not be receiving this honor without the many incredible teammates that inspired and motivated me throughout my career. My family, coaches, USAFH and supporters of USAFH have been my team behind the team that deserve a heartfelt thank you too. But mostly I'll take any excuse to be reunited with all of the teams I was lucky to be a part of."
"Lauren's induction into the USA Field Hockey Hall of Fame is a tribute to the leader, the superior athlete and the incredibly hard-working woman who has positively influenced so many, starting in high school through Wake Forest and on the international circuit," head coach Jennifer Averill said. "She is truly one of the best because of her talent and transformational leadership style."
