The Tennis Recruiting Network slotted Wake Forest in its Top 15 among the country’s best.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest women's tennis opened up its week on Monday (June 6) with noteworthy recognition, as the Demon Deacons were tied for No. 15 within the Tennis Recruiting Network's (TRN) national list of recruiting classes for the Class of 2022.

Wake Forest tied with the University of Denver for the fifteenth spot. The Deacs were one of five Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) institutions to land in the Top 15.

Monday's selection is the sixth time in program history that Wake Forest has made an appearance in the TRN Top 15, since the network began releasing rankings in 2007. Additionally, the Deacons have earned a Top 25 nod on 11 different occasions.

Two members comprise Wake Forest's incoming class – Nevena Carton of Locust, New Jersey, and Whitley Pate of Daniel Island, South Carolina.

Carton is listed as a Blue Chip recruit and stands as the No. 15 prospect in 2022.

Pate, a five-star, ranks No. 26 in the country.

"We are excited for our incoming freshmen class," said head coach Jeff Wyshner. "We really believe in their ability to succeed both athletically and academically at Wake while also being great additions to our team and university's community. On the court, they have shown themselves capable of being immediate contributions at this level."

Wake Forest finished the 2022 spring campaign on a 17-11 clip and its sixth consecutive NCAA tournament berth. For a second straight year, the Deacs sent five individuals to the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships.
