Schedule Information
Redshirt junior Krystal Blanch and sophomore Kady Tannenbaum are set to open play in the pre-qualifying draw that starts on Saturday, while senior Nevena Carton will represent the Deacs in the singles qualifying draw on Monday.
Wake Forest will have two doubles teams partake in the pre-qualifying doubles round that begins on Saturday – Carton/Tannenbaum and Blanch/Jingyi Li.
Nevena Carton
The Locust, N.J., native made the jump to the No. 1 spot for the Deacs in singles this past spring, ultimately leading the team with 13 singles victories during the spring season. She earned her first career ACC Player of the Week honor on March 11th after picking up back-to-back ranked victories against No. 22 Sara Ziodato of Virginia and No. 26 Ozlem Uslu of Virginia Tech. In doubles, Carton recorded 12 doubles wins alongside freshman Kady Tannenbaum, with all 12 wins coming at the second doubles position. The standout pair landed two victories over ranked doubles teams during the spring.
Krystal Blanch
In her second season of action, Blanch appeared in 23 matches during spring 2025. She recorded eight singles victories, including a ranked win over No. 19 Catherine Aulia of Tennessee in the season opener. The Boca Raton, Fla. native also combined for 10 doubles victories, all of which came alongside graduate student Makayla Mills at the first doubles position. The two went on to earn three ranked victories in doubles action, including wins over No. 42 Shaw/Parra Romero (Florida State), No. 71 Beckman/Matsuno (Notre Dame), and No. 80 Parravicini/Smejkalova (Clemson).
Kady Tannenbaum
Tannenbaum enjoyed a very strong freshman season last year, ending with the team lead for combined singles wins across the fall and spring (18). She went 6-1 during the fall season in solo play, including winning her flight of the Debbie Southern Fall Classic in her first-ever collegiate showing. The Commack, N.Y., native also advanced to the quarterfinals of the ITA Carolina Regional with Carton as her doubles partner. Playing primarily at third, fourth and fifth singles across the spring, Tannenbaum finished the spring season with 12 victories, which ranked second on the roster. She was just as impressive in doubles, resting second on the team with 13 doubles victories that all happened alongside Carton at the second doubles spot.
Jingyi Li
Li made eight appearances this past spring, picking up two singles wins that happened against East Carolina and Western Carolina. Additionally, she secured three doubles victories against Navy, Virginia Tech, and Stanford.
Graduate student Anna Zhang made her Wake Forest debut in September 2024 when she competed in the pre-qualification round of the ITA All-American Championships at the Cary Tennis Park.
Zhang, who was the lone Demon Deacon representative in the tournament, picked up a straight-set win in her debut match in the opening round of pre-qualifying, defeating Kenna Erickson of LSU to move onto the second round (6-1, 6-3).
In her second round matchup, Zhang took the first set from UCLA's Kate Fakih, but fell in three sets (6-2, 4-6, 1-6) to conclude her first tournament as a Deac.
