Five Deacs Receive All-ACC Honors

Wake Forest's five recipients of ACC first, second and third team honors mark the program's most in a single season.
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Five members of the Wake Forest men's tennis team have earned postseason recognition from the Atlantic Coast Conference head coaches, the conference announced Thursday.
Senior Eduardo Nava earned first-team All-ACC acclaim for the first time in his Wake Forest career, having made the second team in 2021.
Senior Melios Efstathiou was named a second-team All-ACC member for the first time in collegiate career.
Graduate students Jurabek Karimov and Jakob Schnaitter, joined sophomore Filippo Moroni as a third-team All-ACC selection.

The Deacs have accumulated 31 All-ACC honors since head coach Tony Bresky took the helm and have placed 17 student-athletes on the All-ACC First Team four times since 2012.
Nava collected his first ITA Singles All-America status by reaching the NCAA Singles Quarterfinals. He closed out his collegiate career after finishing the year ranked No. 39. He finished the year at 22-11 in overall singles action and was 19-10 in dual singles matches.

Efstathiou has logged a 16-7 dual singles record this spring. He has collected a total of 76 career singles wins. Efstathiou posted a stellar 13-5 (5-1 ACC) record at No. 2 and 3 singles this dual season, including a 3-2 record at the No. 1 position. Overall, Efstathiou is 76-31 in singles action since joining the Deacs.

In his first season in Winston-Salem, Karimov's road to third-team All-ACC included an 6-12 (2-3 ACC) dual singles record. He has three ranked wins and ranked No. 100 by the ITA. In doubles competition, Karimov has posted a 6-2 (4-1 ACC) mark in dual matches.

Filippo Moroni posted a 11-3 mark in dual matches and reached the NCAA Singles Championships Round of 32. He has two ranked wins and clinched four matches with the Demon Deacons. This is his first All-ACC honor.

Schnaitter's 22 singles and 19 doubles combined dual wins this season led the team. He ended the season on a 17-match win streak in singles and a 14-straight wins in doubles. Having also registered a total of 55 wins this year, Schanitter teamed up with Siddhant Banthia in the NCAA Doubles Championships. The duo reached the quarterfinals and earned All-American status.
