Demon Deacons Return Home for Thursday Night Clash with No. 14 Clemson

Wake Forest will be seeking its first ACC win of the 2022 campaign.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Following a five-match road swing, the Wake Forest women's soccer team will return home to face ACC foe Clemson Thursday night at Spry Stadium.

Kick-off is scheduled for 8 p.m., and the match will be streamed on ACC Network.

2022 Wake Forest soccer season tickets are on-sale now giving fans the opportunity to witness The Best Fan Experience In North Carolina from a number of unique seating options. Season tickets start as low as $45 and offer as much as a $220 savings off of purchasing individual single game tickets.

New to the ticketing menu this year are five and 10 game FLEX options, giving fans maximum flexibility when choosing which home games to attend. FLEX season ticket members will simply open their digital FLEX account, and add or remove games as they decide which dates they are available to attend. Members may even use multiple admissions for a single game to bring a friend, family member or guest with them. If more FLEX tickets are needed, additional admissions may be purchased through the Wake Forest Ticket Office. FLEX admissions are able to be used for redemption at both men's and women's soccer games.

The Matchup
  • Coming off a five-game road swing, Wake Forest will return home to face Clemson Sunday.
  • Over the Demon Deacons' five-game road stretch, the Deacs accumulated a 3-1-1 mark including wins over Maryland and Oakland.
  • The Demon Deacons dropped their first match of the season Sunday in a 2-1 loss to NC State.
  • Clemson owns a 2-1-1 record in away matches this season, including a draw with No. 5 South Carolina.

Last Time Out
  • In its first Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) match of the 2022 campaign, Wake Forest (6-1-2, 0-1 ACC) fell to NC State (6-1-3, 1-0 ACC), 2-1, Sunday night at Dail Soccer Stadium.
  • Wake Forest struck first in the 35th minute when Laurel Ansbrow headed home a pass from Zara Chavoshi for her first-career tally, but NC State responded with two goals in the final 13 minutes of action to secure the 2-1 victory.
  • NC State's 78th-minute goal by Alexis Strickland snapped the Demon Deacons' streak of 692:20 of playing time without allowing a goal, dating back to the first half against Rhode Island on Aug. 21. NC State's two goals scored on Sunday are the most Wake Forest has allowed this season.
  • For the match, the Demon Deacons tallied more shots, shots on goal and corner kicks than the Wolfpack. The Deacs also led the contest for a total of 43 minutes compared to only six minutes for NC State.
 
Scouting the Tigers
  • Clemson is currently ranked No. 14 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll.
  • Clemson is 5-1-2 this season with its lone loss coming to Alabama on Aug. 28.
  • The Tigers earned a 2-0 victory over No. 6 Notre Dame in their last match. With the victory, Clemson registered its highest ranked home win since Sept. 20, 2018, when the Tigers defeated Virginia, 1-0.
  • The Tigers have recorded three consecutive clean sheets.

  • Wake Forest holds a 10-16-4 series record against Clemson.
    • Clemson has won four of the last five matchups. Prior to that, Wake Forest tallied seven consecutive victories over the Tigers.
