
Wake Forest Earns 13th-Straight NCAA Tournament Appearance

The Demon Deacons will open the 2023 NCAA Men’s Soccer Championship with a first round bye, facing the winner of Indiana vs. Lipscomb on Sunday afternoon at Spry Stadium.
INDIANAPOLIS -- For the 13th consecutive season, Wake Forest men's soccer has claimed a spot in the NCAA Men's Soccer Championship as the Demon Deacons earned the No. 10 seed in the 2023 NCAA Tournament and a first round bye. The Demon Deacons will face the winner of the Indiana vs. Lipscomb first round match on Sunday, Nov. 19 at 5 p.m.
The 13-straight NCAA Tournament appearances is the second-longest streak nationally, as Wake Forest is one of only two schools to have a double-digit NCAA Tournament appearance streak alongside Indiana.
Additionally, Wake Forest's 13 consecutive appearances in the NCAA Tournament are eight years more than any other school in the ACC:
ACC Atlantic Division Champions For The Fifth Time
The Demon Deacons in October claimed the program's fifth ACC Atlantic Division title over the last nine seasons by earning at least one point in each of the final seven conference regular season matches.
2023 Season To Date
Highlighted by the ACC Atlantic Division title, Wake Forest will enter the NCAA Tournament with an 11-2-5 overall record as the Demon Deacons are 8-1-3 at Spry Stadium where they'll begin the 2023 NCAA Tournament.
The Demon Deacons have allowed just 14 goals so far in 2023, including a stretch of four-straight clean sheets in early October against Boston College (1-0), NC State (3-0), Wofford (2-0) and North Carolina (1-0).
In the 2-0 victory over Wofford, Wake Forest became the first program nationally to reach 100 home wins over the last nine seasons. Since 2015, Wake Forest's 102 home victories are 17 more than any other program during that span.
The Deacs were led this season by five All-ACC selections and the ACC's Defensive Player of the Year, Garrison Tubbs. Along with Tubbs, Jahlane Forbes, Hosei Kijima, Roald Mitchell, Trace Alphin and Liam O'Gara earning 2023 all-conference nods, Wake Forest's success this year has also been fueled by team captain Cristian Escribano, 2022 All-ACC selections Prince Amponsah and Babacar Niang, 2021 All-ACC selection Jake Swallen and 2022 ACC All-Freshman Team selections Cooper Flax and Vlad Walent along with others.
