
Coach Hayes Unveils 2023-24 Track & Field Schedule

The Demon Deacons will host the Wake Forest Invitational for the second-consecutive year.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Following a season in which 17 Demon Deacons qualified for the NCAA East First Round, director of track & field and cross country John Hayes officially released Wake Forest's 2023-24 track & field schedule Friday evening.
"Our schedule this year has a great mix of national level competition, as well as our traditional ACC and regional opponents," said Hayes regarding the slate. "It allows us to be able to prepare our student-athletes for a wide range of levels of competition and to be at our absolute best when the ACC, NCAA Championships and Olympic trials take place in May and June."
Indoor Season
Wake Forest will open the 2023-24 campaign on Saturday, Dec. 2 with several Demon Deacons traveling to Boston for the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener, while others will remain in Winston-Salem to compete at the Visit Winston-Salem College Kickoff at JDL Fast Track.
The Demon Deacons will then take a hiatus, before competing at back-to-back meets (Virginia Tech Invitational and Hokie Invitational) in Blacksburg, Va. on Jan. 12 and Jan. 19, respectively.
A week later, several Deacs will travel to the Bob Pollock Invitational in Clemson, S.C., while others will stay home to compete at the Camel City Invitational (Jan. 26-27).
The following two weeks will consist of three events per weekend. On Feb. 10, the Deacs will compete at the Darius Dixon Invitational (Lynchburg, Va.), the David Hemery Valentine Invitational (Boston) and the Eagle Elite Invitational (Boston).
From Feb. 16-17, Wake Forest will be represented at the Arkansas Qualifier (Fayetteville, Ark.), the JDL Last Chance Invitational (Winston-Salem) and the Alex Wilson Invitational (South Bend, Ind.).
The 2024 ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held Feb. 22-24, and the 2024 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships will take place March 8-9. Both meets will be held in Boston.

Outdoor Season
Two weeks after the conclusion of Wake Forest's indoor season, the Demon Deacons will open the outdoor slate, competing at the Elon Invitational (March 22) and the Charlotte 49er Classic (March 22-23).
The following week will consist of the Texas Relays (Austin), the Bobcat Invitational (San Marcos, Texas) and the Stanford Invitational (Palo Alto, Calif.) from March 27-30.
Wake Forest will return to North Carolina two weeks later to compete at the Duke Invitational (April 12-13), before hosting the Wake Forest Invitational at Kentner Stadium on Friday, April 19.
The Demon Deacons will conclude the 2024 regular season at the Charlotte Invitational, April 26-27.
The 2024 ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships will take place May 9-11 in Atlanta, Ga., while the NCAA East First Round (May 22-25) and the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships (June 5-8) will be held in Lexington, Ky. and Eugene Ore., respectively.
