Chacarra, Kuehn Named to Final Fall Watch List for ANNIKA Award

Columbus, Ga. - Wake Forest women's golfers Carolina Chacarra and Rachel Kuehn have been named to the final fall watch list of the ANNIKA Award, presented by Stifel. Both players have been on the final fall watch list every season of their collegiate careers.
In her fifth and final year of collegiate golf, the 2022 and 2023 ACC Player of the Year has helped Wake Forest back to No. 1 in the national rankings. Kuehn and the Deacs have won three team titles this fall, including the Schooner Classic in September, the Jackson T. Stephens Cup in October and the East Lake Cup last week.
The Asheville native has finished inside the top 11 in four of the five fall events and has a 70.62 stroke average. Her best finish came at the Schooner Classic where she finished tied for third with a seven-under score of 203. Her final-round 66 is her lowest of the season so far.
In her junior season, the 2022 ACC Freshman of the Year has the lowest stroke average on the team, 69.62, and has finished inside the top 15 in all five events on the fall schedule. Her best came when she finished third at both the Schooner Classic in September and the Jackson T. Stephens Cup in October. Her opening-round 63 at the Schooner Classic is her best of the season so far and finished the event with season-best seven-under 203. She finished the Stephens Cup with a nine-under score of 207.
The Deacs will open the spring season Feb. 6-8 at the Therese Hession Regional in Palos Verdes, California.

About the ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel:
Created in 2014, the ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel is annually given to the top female Division 1 collegiate golfer; the winner voted on by players, coaches and members of the college golf media. Named for Annika Sorenstam, the award was created in partnership with the Haskins Foundation to acknowledge the top female golfer and to match the Haskins Award presented by Stifel, which acknowledges the top male Division I collegiate golfer. Rose Zhang (Stanford) became the 9th ANNIKA Award winner in 2023, and the third consecutive winner from Stanford.
