WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest men's basketball team returns home for its final home Big Four matchup of the season against the North Carolina Tar Heels on Tuesday night (Feb. 7). Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. inside LJVM Coliseum and the game will air live on ESPN.

Wake Forest (15-9, 7-6) is coming off an ACC road win at Notre Dame Saturday afternoon, 81-64. The Demon Deacons have now downed the Fighting Irish in back-to-back meetings. Additionally, Saturday's win was Wake Forest's first in the Purcell Pavilion since 2019.

The Deacs held a high efficiency showing as a unit, shooting 52.7 percent from the field and 46.7 percent from downtown. At the free-throw line, Wake went 9-of-11 (81.8 percent). Wake Forest's 14 made three-pointers tied as the second-highest mark of the season, as the team also made 14 against Florida State (Jan. 11). Wake Forest is the only team to make 14 threes against the Irish this season. Additionally, the Deacons' 52.7 field goal percentage is their best field goal percentage since shooting 55.6 percent against Florida State.

Damari Monsanto recorded a new career high with 28 points on eight made three-pointers. He also added seven rebounds, an assist and a block. Monsanto is the only player since 1996 to score six or more threes in five games in a single season for Wake Forest. Saturday marked the second game this season he has poured in at least seven made threes. The Florida native was the first Deac to make eight threes since Ish Massoud made eight on Jan. 23, 2021, vs Pitt.

Tyree Appleby was one rebound shy of a double-double, with nine rebounds and 16 points. The ACC assists leader kept his momentum and led all players with seven dimes. Freshman Bobi Klintman had another standout performance with 10 points and four rebounds. The 6'10 forward was a perfect 4-of-4 from the field and 2-of-2 from three-point range.

The Tar Heels (15-8, 7-5) are coming off a 57-63 loss at Duke Saturday night. North Carolina was led by two double-doubles from Armando Bacot and Leaky Black. Bacot had 14 points and 10 rebounds while Black had 13 points and 10 rebounds. Caleb Love and RJ Davis also scored in double figures, recording 12 and 11 points respectively. The Heels shot 34.3 percent from the field and 25.9 percent from deep in the loss.
