
No. 14 Demon Deacons Hosting First Home ACC Matches of 2023 Season

The Deacs head into a three-match weekend 2-0 in the ACC, as Wake Forest will host two top-60 foes.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The No. 14 ranked Wake Forest men's tennis team will host its first home ACC matches of the 2023 season this weekend at the Wake Forest Tennis Center, facing No. 23 Florida State on Friday at 5 p.m. before facing off with No. 60 Miami on Sunday at 11 a.m.
The Demon Deacons will close out the weekend against Coastal Carolina in a non-conference tilt, scheduled for a 3 p.m. start on Sunday.

Last Time Out
The Demon Deacons opened up ACC play with a 2-0 weekend, first downing No. 69 Georgia Tech 6-1 in indoors action before moving outside on Sunday to capture a 6-1 victory over No. 44 Clemson.
The Matchup - No. 23 Florida State
Florida State will head to Winston-Salem sporting an 8-4 overall record as the Seminoles split their ACC opening weekend matches against then-No. 65 Virginia Tech (5-2 victory) and then-No. 21 Virginia (0-4 loss). The Demon Deacons will be the Seminoles' seventh ranked opponent this season, alongside Virginia Tech, Virginia, Georgia, Mississippi State, Florida and Baylor.
Florida State made the NCAA Tournament during the 2021 season and finished with an 18-11 record.

Friday's contest will mark the 39th all-time meeting between the Demon Deacons and the Seminoles as Wake Forest currently holds a three-match winning streak over Florida State dating back to a 4-0 decision during the 2019 season. Wake Forest has won its last seven matches against Florida State in Winston-Salem as well.
The Matchup - No. 60 Miami
After scoring victories over South Alabama and the College of Charleston earlier this week, Miami will head to North Carolina this weekend first facing No. 32 NC State on Friday evening before heading to Winston-Salem for Sunday's clash.
The Hurricanes enter the weekend with an 8-4 overall record.

The match will be the 28th all-time showdown between the Deacs and Canes, with Wake Forest holding a 14-13 advantage in the series. Wake Forest has won its previous five matches against Miami at the Wake Forest Tennis Center including a 4-0 decision in their last meeting here in 2021.
The Matchup - Coastal Carolina
The final of three home matches for Wake Forest will take place Sunday afternoon when the Demon Deacons and Chanticleers face off in non-conference action.
This will mark the second matchup between the two sides this season, with Wake Forest claiming a 7-0 victory on Jan. 15.
Sustained Success
Wake Forest has made the NCAA Tournament in each of the past nine seasons, including the 2018 season, in which the Demon Deacons won the program's first ever NCAA Championship.
Since head coach Tony Bresky took over the program in 2012, the Deacs have accumulated 31 All-ACC honors. Of note, five Demon Deacons earned All-ACC honors last season, marking the most in a single season in program history.

The Demon Deacons will travel to Waco, Texas, next Sunday to face current No. 43 Baylor.
