
Travis Smith Named Gatorade Kentucky Player of the Year

Smith is part of an incoming recruiting class that ranks top-10 nationally once again by TopDrawerSoccer.
CHICAGO -- Incoming Wake Forest men's soccer freshman Travis Smith has been named the Gatorade Kentucky Boy's Soccer Player of the Year.
During his senior season for DuPont Manual (Ky.) High School, Smith scored 18 goals and collected nine assists while leading the team to the state semifinals.
He was named an All-State First-Team selection while also being selected for the High School All-American Game. Additionally, Smith previously earned a spot on the 2021-22 Elite Club National League All-American team.
Set to join Wake Forest this fall, Smith is part of a recruiting class that once again ranks top-10 nationally by TopDrawerSoccer. Wake Forest is the only NCAA Division I men's soccer program nationally to have a top-10 ranked recruiting class each of the last eight years including five top-five classes.
Smith and the rest of his Demon Deacons teammates will begin the 2023 season against Grand Canyon on Thursday, Aug. 24 at Spry Stadium. Season tickets are available for purchase here.
