
No. 10 Wake Forest Facing Boston College in Friday Afternoon ACC Clash

The Deacs and Eagles will meet for their fourth ACC contest of the 2023 regular season.
NEWTON, MASS. – The No. 10 ranked Wake Forest men's soccer team will travel to Massachusetts for a Friday afternoon ACC matchup with Boston College.
Kick-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. and the match will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.

- The Demon Deacons enter Friday's match with a 6-1-3 overall record following a 3-1 victory over Campbell on Tuesday while Boston College will be coming off a week-long break sporting a 2-3-3 record on the year.
- Wake Forest is currently 1-1-1 in ACC action, most recently beating Clemson in a nationally-televised 1-0 victory last Friday. The Deacs are currently tied with Louisville for second place in the Atlantic Division, just one point back of Syracuse.
- Boston College, meanwhile, is 2-3–3 overall and 0-2-1 in ACC play as the Eagles drew with then-No. 17 Pitt 0-0 and dropping 2-0 and 1-0 decisions against NC State and Virginia Tech respectively.
- The Deacs' victory over Campbell marked their first road win of the 2023 campaign while the Eagles are currently undefeated at home with a 2-0-3 record.
- Wake Forest will be making its 10th all-time appearance at the Newton Campus Soccer Complex, as the Demon Deacons have won three of their previous matches at Boston College.
- Overall, the Demon Deacons lead the all-time series 11-7-2.
- Wake Forest will be looking for its first away victory against Boston College since a 4-0 decision on Oct. 21, 2017.
- The Demon Deacons traveled across North Carolina on Tuesday night, as Wake Forest knocked off Campbell 3-1 in non-conference action at the Eakes Athletics Complex.
- Wake Forest took a 2-0 lead through the first 20 minutes of action, as Jake Swallen netted his second of the season in the 11th minute before captain Garrison Tubbs scored off a corner kick in the 19th minute.
- After Campbell cut into the Wake Forest lead in the 47th minute, Julian Kennedy's 83rd-minute strike solidified the Deacs' sixth victory of the season.
- Wake Forest finished the night with advantages in shots (15-6), shots on goal (6-1), corner kicks (6-0) and possession (62 percent).
- The Demon Deacons need just one more victory in ACC play to reach 50 regular season conference victories under ninth-year head coach Bobby Muuss.
- Through last weekend's action, Wake Forest's 49 ACC regular season wins over the last nine seasons are nine more than any other conference program during that span.
- The Deacs have claimed four ACC Atlantic Division titles under Muuss' guidance.
- Overall, the Demon Deacons currently have the most total wins (135) and home wins (99) nationally under Muuss.
- The 135 overall victories are 19 more than any ACC counterpart and the 99 home victories are 23 more than any other ACC program.
- Boston College is currently unbeaten in five home matches this season with a 2-0-3 record at the Newton Soccer Complex including a 0-0 draw with then-No. 17 Pitt two weeks ago.
- The Eagles have only conceded two goals in those five home matches, both of which came in a 2-2 draw with Boston on Sept. 19.
- Four Boston College players have scored on the campaign, led by Jonathan Murphy's two goals.
- Defensively, goalkeepers Brennan Klein and Leon Musial have combined to record 21 saves while only conceding eight goals. Klein – who has started all three ACC matches for the Eagles – is allowing just 0.51 goals against per match which is best in the conference and 10th nationally.
- Wake Forest will be back in action next Friday for a Big Four battle with NC State in Raleigh.
