Wake Forest Hosts Virginia in Wear Black Game

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest men's basketball team is set to host the Virginia Cavaliers in the Deacs' Wear Black game. All fans are encouraged to wear their black Wake Forest gear in support of the Deacs.
The Deacs and Cavaliers will face off at 2:00 p.m. ET on Saturday (Jan. 13) inside Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum and the game will air live on ESPN2.
With the win over Miami last weekend, Wake Forest is now 9-0 at home to start the 2023-24 season. The Deacs' 3-1 start in ACC play is also the best start since 2004-05. Wake Forest is currently 40-5 inside LJVM Coliseum since the start of the 2021-22 season. At the conclusion of non-conference play for this season, head coach Steve Forbes has never lost a non-ACC game inside LJVM Coliseum, and Wake Forest is 27-0 in LJVM against non-conference opponents dating back to December 2018.
Wake is coming off its first loss in league play Tuesday night when the team fell to Florida State in Tallahassee. Cameron Hildreth and Kevin Miller led the offense with 25 and 21 points, respectively. Miller additionally snagged a career-best eight rebounds and dished out five assists, while Hildreth shot 9-of-18 from the floor (50.0 percent).
Freshman guard Parker Friedrichsen was a spark as a reserve, totaling 13 points on a 4-of-8 field-goal shooting clip. Three of the Bixby, Oklahoma, native's made shots came from three-point territory.
Efton Reid posted nine points and a game-high nine rebounds. Fellow junior Hunter Sallis contributed 10 points. Tuesday marked the 13th time this season where Wake Forest had four players register double-figures in scoring.
The Demon Deacons ended Tuesday night with a 47.5 collective shooting percentage. Wake Forest also went 17-of-21 (81.0 percent) from the charity stripe against the Seminoles, being the eighth time the team posted a free throw percentage above 80 percent this season.
