Deacs Record Lowest Round on Final Day of the Southwestern Invitational

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. – The Wake Forest men's golf team wrapped up play at the Southwestern Invitational, finishing the tournament in eighth place with a final score of 849 (-3).
As a team, the Demon Deacons turned in their lowest score of the week on Wednesday, posting a final round score of 282 (-2) with three Deacs posting par or better scores.
Wake Forest was led by graduate Daniel Sheedy who scored under par every round and finished Wednesday with a final round score of 70 (-1). Sheedy ended the week as the top player on the individual leaderboard, posting a 210 (-3) with three counting scores including the lowest round of the week which came yesterday, 69 (-2).
Junior Scotty Kennon ended the day with an eagle and three birdies and along with Sheedy was the top Wake Forest player on the individual leaderboard. Kennon was a consistent presence in the lineup, carding three rounds of 70 (-1) and he finished the week tied for 13th at 3-under-par.
Senior Michael Brennan finished in the top 30 of the tournament and helped lead the Deacs in the first round shooting under-par and counted towards the team score in all three rounds.
Junior Marshall Meisel finished his last day of play under par and moved 14 places up the leaderboard. Meisel posted his lowest score of the tournament, posting three birdies in the front nine.

The Deacs travel to Rivera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif. for the Genesis Invitational Collegiate Showcase on Feb. 12.
