Racing for the Deacs Eager to Take on NCAA Southeast Regional Course
For the first time in 23 years, both programs earned fourth place finishes at the 2023 NCAA Southeast Regionals in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Luke Tewat (28:59.7) and Joe O'Brien (29:34.1) achieved All-Region Honors following fifth and 19th place finishes in the men's 10k. In her first season with the Deacs' Brooke Wilson (20:04.5) joined Tewalt and O'Brien earning All-Region honors following a stellar tenth place finish.

Gavin Ehlers (29:58.2), Charlie Sprott (30:06.9), and Hunter Jones (30:13.3) rounded out the top-5 spread finishing 31st, 38th, and 44th.

Deacs' Starting Line
After four Demon Deacon men placed in the top 15 and six finished in the top 50–surging ahead of No. 5 Stanford with a total of 60 points in the 8k–-the men's 2024 ACC Cross Country Champions jumped ahead to No. 5 in the USTFCCCA National Coaches' Poll with 280 points, ahead of five other ACC teams in week five.

Friday's lineup includes four of the five men's ACC Championships (11/1) top-five spread and All-ACC honors, Luke Tewalt, JoJo Jourdon, Charlie Sprott, and Joe O'Brien

Two-time ACC Cross Country Champion, Tewalt became the fourth Wake Forest runner in program history to earn All-ACC honors on three separate occasions and first since his former teammate Zach Facioni. Standout performer crushed his personal best of 23:06.9, finishing seventh with a time of 22:39.0.

ACC Freshman of the Year JoJo Jourdon will step up to the line on Friday morning following a stellar showing at the 2024 ACC Championships (11/1). In his collegiate 8k debut, Jourdon not only secured the highest finish among freshmen but also became the fourth Demon Deacon in the past eight years to earn this honor, following Sprott who received the award in 2023.

2024 ACC Cross Country Champions Sprott (22:56.1) and two-time All-ACC Award winner O'Brien (22:59.4) earned personal-best times in back-to-back meets (Panorama Farms Invitational and ACC Championships), after finishing 14th and 15th.

For the women, New Jersey-native Angelina Perez looks to continue her extraordinary first season with the Deacs'. Perez is coming off of a 15th place finish in the 6k, clocking 20:00.7 at the ACC Championships. With this outstanding performance, Perez broke her previous personal best-time of 20:13.1 at Pre-Nationals (10/19) where she placed 49th out of 250 performers in Madison, Wisc.

Star performer Brooke Wilson looks to continue her strong form after finishing 19th at ACC Championships, leading to an All-ACC Award for the second-consecutive season, becoming the first back-to-back All-ACC honoree on the women's side for the Deacs since Sam Halvorsen (2017-2019).

Wilson is joined by Rylan Engels, Elizabeth Whaley, and Molly Dreher taking the course after finishing 53rd, 56th, and 57th to complete the Deacs' top-5 spread at the ACC Championships.
