The Demon Deacons are in search of their third ACC Tournament title in nine seasons and fourth overall in program history.
CARY, N.C. – The No. 5 seeded Wake Forest men's soccer team will look to add to its trophy case on Sunday afternoon, as the Demon Deacons face No. 2 seeded Clemson in the finals of the 2024 ACC Men's Soccer Championship at WakeMed Soccer Park.
The Demon Deacons have won three ACC Tournament titles in program history, with 2016 and 2017 championships earned under the direction of 10th-year head coach Bobby Muuss.
Kick-off is scheduled for 12 noon and the match will air nationally on ESPNU.

For the first time, a Champions Package is available for purchase for $40 and includes tickets to all six ACC Women's and Men's matches.

The Matchup
- The two winningest programs in the ACC over the last 10 seasons will meet in Sunday afternoon's ACC Championship.
- With a 5-1 result against Virginia in the ACC Semifinals on Thursday, Wake Forest has won a national-best 150 matches since the start of the 2015 season.
- Additionally, Wake Forest won an ACC-best five divisional titles between 2015-23 along with being the most recent program to win back-to-back ACC Tournaments, doing so in 2016 and 2017.
- Clemson, meanwhile, has won 140 matches over the last 10 seasons with two divisional titles, two ACC Tournaments and two National Championships.
- This will be the ninth time the Demon Deacons and Tigers have met in the ACC Tournament and the second time in the finals.
- In the 2016 finals, Wake Forest defeated Clemson 3-1 behind three first half goals and an eight-save effort from Alec Ferrell.
- Facing Virginia for the second time this season, Wake Forest strung together a dominating 5-1 performance against the Cavaliers on a rainy Thursday evening.
- During an 11-minute span starting in the 18th minute, Wake Forest logged three goals.
- In the 18th minute, senior Julian Kennedy tallied his first goal of the season, heading home a lofted ball from freshman Dylan Borso.
- Then just six minutes later, junior Basit Umar logged his fourth goal of the season, powerfully one-timing a back pass from Kennedy to beat Virginia's keeper.
- In the 29th minute, junior Cooper Flax buried a penalty kick attempt as Wake Forest took a 3-0 lead into the halftime break.
- Shortly after the halftime break, freshman Joel Torbic became the 14th Deac to score on the campaign when a low-level ball crossed the Virginia keeper and hit the inside of the post.
- Flax finished off the scoring in the 75th minute, once again beating Virginia on a penalty kick to become the first Demon Deacon to log a brace since senior Babacar Niang did so against Central Arkansas on Aug. 25.
- In total, 22 Demon Deacons contributed to the victory including sophomore Liam O'Gara making his first appearance since Nov. 5, 2023.
- Wake Forest will be competing in its 68th ACC Tournament match all-time on Sunday afternoon, as the Demon Deacons are 24-29-14 in the tournament dating back to 1987.
- This will be the fourth meeting between Wake Forest and Virginia in the ACC Tournament over the last 10 years, as the two sides have gone 1-1-1 against each other in that span.
- In the 10 seasons under head coach Bobby Muuss, the Demon Deacons are 11-7-3 in ACC Tournament matches with titles in 2016 and 2017.
- The Demon Deacons remain the most recent ACC program to win back-to-back ACC Tournament championships.
- The 2024 Demon Deacon squad exemplifies playing until the final whistle, as 15 of Wake Forest's 31 goals have come after the 70th minute.
- Despite going down a goal 11 times this season, Wake Forest has recorded four victories and four draws when conceding first.
- Wake Forest has logged comeback victories against Syracuse on two occasions, UNCW and the first come from behind victory when down 2-0 in 18 years with a 3-2 result against Central Arkansas.
- Additionally, the Demon Deacons logged ties when trailing against three ranked foes (No. 21 UCF, No. 14 Elon and No. 15 SMU) along with the first matchup against Virginia in the regular season.

- Clemson enters Sunday's contest with a nationally-best 14 wins on the season, as the Tigers have defeated Louisville, Stanford and Cal in ACC Tournament play so far.
- Offensively, the Tigers have been led by the one-two punch of Joran Gerbet and Alex Meinhard, as they have combined to score 18 goals and dishing out 11 assists.
- Patrick Donovan has started the last three matches for Clemson in goal, recording nine saves and three goals conceded.
- Following Sunday's finals of the ACC Tournament, Wake Forest will turn its attention to the Selection Show for the 2024 NCAA Tournament. The show will be streamed on NCAA.com at 1 p.m.
- Wake Forest currently holds the ACC's longest active NCAA Tournament appearances streak at 13 consecutive seasons, eight years longer than any other conference program.
