- Women's Soccer:
- Following a 4-0 thrashing of Morehead State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, the Wake Forest women's soccer team is set to host Colorado in the round of 32 this Friday, Nov. 22 at 6 p.m.
- This will mark the Deacs' 16th all-time appearance in the Round of 32 and second in the last four seasons (2021).
- The Demon Deacons have made the Round of 16 on five occasions, with the most recent coming in 2018.
- The winner of Friday's match will take on the winner of (3) Ohio State and (6) Auburn on Sunday at 2 p.m.
- Following a 4-0 thrashing of Morehead State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, the Wake Forest women's soccer team is set to host Colorado in the round of 32 this Friday, Nov. 22 at 6 p.m.
- Volleyball:
- Wake Forest (13-14, 5-11) remains at home this week, facing No. 1 Pitt on Friday before a Sunday afternoon showdown with No. 10 SMU.
- Sunday will be Seniors and Graduates Day for the program, recognizing the 2024 class and families in a post-match ceremony:
- The Deacs are coming off a week that saw them face Big Four rival NC State twice in a four-day span.
- Cross Country:
- The women's cross country squad capped off their 2024 season with an electrifying performance, placing six runners in the top-50 earning an outstanding fourth-place finish at the NCAA Southeast Regional.
- Angelina Perez (20:47.2) and Brooke Wilson (21:02.1) both placed inside the top 20 and earned All-Region honors for the Demon Deacons, placing 10th and 17th, respectively.
- Elizabeth Whaley also tabbed All-Region honors, placing 23rd with a time of 21:18.1.
- Women's Basketball:
- The Wake Forest women's basketball team remained undefeated at home with a 16-point win over Winthrop on Sunday, improving to 3-1 on the season and matching the best start in the Megan Gebbia era.
- The Demon Deacons held the Eagles to just 17-of-50 FG (34.0 percent) from the floor Sunday night. So far this season, Wake Forest has limited opponents to just 48.8 points per-game which ranked 22nd in the country and third in ACC coming into the contest.
- Individually, Wake Forest was once again led by senior guard Elise Williams, who finished the contest with 12 points and is now tied for 24th in program history in career scoring with 1,110.
- She has now scored double-figures in 12 of her last 13 games and is averaging 17.4 points per game during that span. Williams also added five rebounds and four assists.
- As a team, the Deacs logged 20 assists on 26 made baskets (76.9 percent) Sunday. This marked the most assists for Wake Forest since they recorded 24 against Saint Louis on Nov. 20, 2023. Of note, nine of the 10 Demon Deacons that played had at least one assist, with six recording two or more.
- The Demon Deacons are back at home Wednesday night as they face undefeated George Mason who is coming off the second-best season in school history as the Patriots won 23 games and earned a bid to the inaugural WBIT.
- Tipoff for Wednesday is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at LJVM Coliseum and also airs on ACC Network.
- Wake Forest is also at home Saturday, playing host to in-state Davidson at LJVM Coliseum.
- Tipoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on ACC Network Extra.
- The Wake Forest women's basketball team remained undefeated at home with a 16-point win over Winthrop on Sunday, improving to 3-1 on the season and matching the best start in the Megan Gebbia era.
- Field Hockey:
- Head coach Jen Averill and Wake Forest field hockey announced seven new members to the program for the 2025 season. The class brings a wealth of talent and diversity from across the globe, with three student-athletes from South Africa, two from the United States, one from Canada and one from England.
- Women's Golf:
- After winning her first individual title of the season and helping the Demon Deacons to their first team title of the year, Carolina Chacarra was named as a finalist for the ANNIKA Award, presented by 3M.
- Wake also announced the additions of two golfers for 2025 last week. Chloe Kovelesky, of Florida, will start in January of 2025 and Chutimon Rujiranan, from Thailand, will enroll in the fall of 2025.
- Women's Tennis:
- Head coach Jeff Wyshner and the Wake Forest women's tennis team announced the signing of Eva Oxford, a blue-chip prospect from Dallas, Texas on National Signing . Oxford is ranked as the 20th best recruit in the country and is the second best recruit in the state of Texas according to Tennis Recruiting Network.
