Deacs Get Full First Round in at Moon Golf Invitational

MELBOURNE, Fla. - After the first 18 holes of the Moon Golf Invitational, the Wake Forest women's golf team sits two over par. The event was moved up a day due to inclement weather in the area.
After the practice round concluded around 12:30 today, the first round of the Moon kicked off at 1:15 p.m. All teams were able to get in the full first round and will not play tomorrow due to weather.
Freshman Macy Pate led the way for the Deacs, with three birdies and just one bogey to finish the round two under par. After making the turn two under, her third birdie on the 16th canceled out the only bogey she had on the par-five 10th. Graduate Rachel Kuehn is one behind her, finishing the day one under with identical birdies as Pate, on the first and eighth holes.
Freshman Brooke Rivers went one over par and senior Mimi Rhodes finished four over. As a team, Wake finished the first 18 holes two over par and eight strokes back of Auburn, leading the field at six under. Pate is just four off the individual leader who sits at six under.
The second and third rounds will resume Monday and Tuesday mornings, as scheduled. Live scoring will be available Monday and Tuesday.
