Demon Deacons Host Belmont Abbey Wednesday

Wake Forest is looking to remain unbeaten at home this season.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Currently riding a nine-match winning streak, the No. 6-ranked Wake Forest men's tennis will return home to face Belmont Abbey Wednesday evening at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex.
First serve between the Demon Deacons and the Crusaders is slated for 4 p.m.

Last Time Out (at Notre Dame)
Behind a perfect 3-0 mark in singles action, Wake Forest swept Notre Dame, 4-0, Sunday evening at the Eck Tennis Pavilion in South Bend, Ind.
Sunday's victory improved the Deacs to a perfect 13-0 against Notre Dame since 2015. Over the last five meetings between the Demon Deacons and the Fighting Irish, Wake Forest has outscored Notre Dame, 24-4.
The Deacs secured their fourth-consecutive doubles point behind wins in the first and second slots. Of note, No. 1 DK Suresh Ekamabaram/Holden Koons defeated No. 13 Sebastian Dominko/Jean Marc Malkowski, 6-3, earning their 14th dual doubles win of the 2024 campaign.
In singles, freshman Luca Pow, graduate student Holden Koons and senior No. 38 Filippo Moroni all earned straight-set wins to secure the Demon Deacons' ninth-consecutive victory. Of note, Sunday marked Pow's 12th-straight singles win, while marking Koons' eighth-straight.
Overall, this season, Pow and Koons have combined to go an impressive 35-5 in singles.

In the latest ITA Team Rankings, Wake Forest was ranked sixth nationally, marking the sixth-consecutive week the Demon Deacons have been ranked in the top 10.

Belmont Abbey enters Wednesday's contest with a 16-12 record. The Crusaders have notched wins over Wingate and Mars Hill to start the 2024 campaign. Belmont Abbey has been led by Christian Winstead, as he has recorded an 8-4 mark in singles action, including a perfect 3-0 ledger at the No. 1 position.
Wednesday will mark the second-ever meeting between the Deacs and the Crusaders, as Wake Forest earned a 7-0 victory a season ago.
