No. 6 Wake Forest Primed for Friday Double-Header Against No. 16 NC State and Boston College

The Demon Deacons are looking to remain unbeaten at home this season.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Currently on a 10-match winning streak, the No. 6-ranked Wake Forest men's tennis team will host ACC foes No. 16 NC State and Boston College Friday evening at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex.
 
First serve between the Demon Deacons and the Wolfpack is slated for 2 p.m., while the second leg of Friday's double-header against the Eagles will begin at approximately 5:30 p.m.

Last Time Out (vs. Belmont Abbey)
Behind an impressive 5-1 record in singles, Wake Forest defeated in-state foe Belmont Abbey, 5-2, Wednesday evening at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex.
 
With the victory, the Demon Deacons improved to an impressive 22-4 against schools in the state of North Carolina since the start of the 2022 campaign. Additionally, Wednesday marked the Deacs' 10th-straight win, dating back to March 1.
 
Belmont Abbey got off to a strong start, snapping Wake Forest's four-match streak of winning the doubles point behind wins on courts two and three, respectively.
 
The Deacs immediately responded, winning four-consecutive singles matches in less than an hour to clinch the victory. Graduate student Jamieson Nathan closed the contest with a 6-4, 6-2 win in fifth singles.
 
Nathan is currently on a three-match winning streak in dual singles action, with each of his three victories coming in straight sets.
 
Of note, junior Noah Hahn made his first appearance of the 2024 campaign Wednesday.

The Matchup - No. 16 NC State
Friday's matchup against the No. 16-ranked Wolfpack will mark the Demon Deacons' 11th match against a top-20 opponent this season. NC State is off to a 12-4 start to open the 2024 campaign, including a 5-1 record in ACC play. Most recently, NC State earned a pair of road sweeps over Louisville and Notre Dame.

Friday will mark the 57th all-time meeting between Wake Forest and NC State, as the Demon Deacons lead the series 44-12. The Deacs are an impressive 8-1 against the Wolfpack over the last nine meetings, with the lone loss coming a season ago.
 
The Matchup - Boston College
Boston College (4-9, 0-6 ACC) is looking to snap a six-match losing streak Friday. Additionally, the Eagles are seeking their first road win. Boston College has notched notable wins over DePaul and Assumption this season, while playing a pair of competitive matches against Brown and Furman.
