Chacarra Tabbed to ANNIKA Award Spring Watch List

The junior has appeared on the Watch List all three years of her collegiate career.
Columbus, Ga. - Wake Forest junior Carolina Chacarra has been named to the first Spring Watch List for the ANNIKA Award, presented by Stifel, the organization announced Monday afternoon.
Chacarra currently leads the No. 2 Demon Deacons with a 69.62 stroke average over 13 rounds played so far during the 2023-24 season. She finished in the top 15 of all five fall events, including two top-five and one top-ten finish.
She shot a season-low 63 in the opening round of the Schooner Classic in September en route to her first third-place finish of the season. She also finished third at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup with a nine-under score of 207.
Wake Forest is currently competing in the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, hosted by South Carolina, at Long Cove Club. The competition runs through Wednesday, March 6, with live coverage airing daily on the Golf Channel from 2:30-5:20 p.m. ET each day.

Created in 2014, the ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel is annually given to the top female Division 1 collegiate golfer; the winner voted on by players, coaches and members of the college golf media. Named for Annika Sorenstam, the award was created in partnership with the Haskins Foundation to acknowledge the top female golfer and to match the Haskins Award presented by Stifel, which acknowledges the top male Division I collegiate golfer. Rose Zhang (Stanford) became the 10th ANNIKA Award winner in 2023, and the third consecutive winner from Stanford.
