HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The back-to-No. 1 Wake Forest women's golf team has concluded play at the 2024 Darius Rucker Intercollegiate with two players finishing inside the top 10.
Freshman Brooke Rivers had her best day in the final round. After making the turn at even par with one bogey and one birdie back-to-back, the Canadian dropped two birdies on the second nine holes, going back-to-back on 14 and 15. She finished the two under to finish two under for the event and tied for seventh. It is the best finish of the season for the rookie.
Freshman Macy Pate also finished inside the top 10 with three birdies in her final round to finish one over on the day and one under for the week. The Winston-Salem native has now finished inside the top 25 for six of the seven events in her freshman campaign so far.
Graduate Rachel Kuehn had a steady final day of play, finishing even par with a single bogey and single birdie coming back-to-back on her first nine holes of the day. She ended on nine straight pars to finish at four over and T33 for the week after finishing her second and third rounds both at even par.
After a hot start with a first-round score of 69, sophomore Anne-Sterre den Dunnen went seven over in both the second and third rounds to finish T71.
Coach's Comments
"I am very proud of these young ladies this week. Macy, Brooke and Anne had never seen the golf course and performed very well. To compete with only four golfers and finish as we did shows the strength of this team. We will continue to work on getting everyone healthy and ready for postseason play." - head coach Kim Lewellen
