This is the eighth ACC title in program history and third in the past six seasons.
WILMINGTON, N.C. - The top-seeded Wake Forest women's golf team won the eighth conference title in program history Sunday after two rain delays.
The championship match was called at 7:45 p.m. Sunday night due to darkness. With Wake Forest ahead in three matches and the top seed in the tournament, they won the title. This season marks the first time since 2019 that the women's golf team won the individual title (Emilia Migliaccio) and the team title.
To start the day, Wake Forest defeated the fourth-seeded North Carolina, 3-1. After a two-hour rain delay to start the day, freshman Macy Pate clinched the first point for the Deacs, winning her match on the 16th green. Junior Carolina Chacarra got the second point for Wake immediately after Pate, also on the 16th green. Both players won their matches 3&2 on 16.
Senior Mimi Rhodes dropped her match, 4&3 on 15, leaving graduate Rachel Kuehn and freshman Brooke Rivers to win the match. With her match tied on the 18th tee, Rivers hit a 12-foot birdie putt to win her match and seal Wake Forest's future in the championship match.
The Deacs faced the reigning ACC champs in the Clemson Tigers for the championship match. After a second weather delay due to unplayable conditions on the course, the matches continued until 7:45 p.m. when they were called due to darkness. At the time of the call, Wake Forest was leading in three of the five matches. Per the ACC bylaws, Wake Forest was the default champion since the Deacs were the highest remaining seed.

Coach's Comments
"What a week! Winning an individual championship and a team championship has been so rewarding. We have had our share of adversity this spring with injuries, but this group worked so hard to be healthy and ready for championship season. We are extremely proud of this team. Go Deacs!" - head coach Kim Lewellen
