The Demon Deacons lone shutout of the season came earlier this season against the Phoenix in a 9-0 victory back in March.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Back in the top 10 after a huge weekend series win over Florida State, the No. 8 Wake Forest baseball team goes back on the road this Tuesday to face Elon in non-conference action. First pitch from Latham Park is set for 6 p.m.

Opponent/Series History

Tuesday marks the 107th all-time meeting between the two schools, with the Demon Deacons leading the series, 66-40 dating back to 1909.
Wake Forest defeated Elon earlier this year at the Couch, 9-0.
The Deacs will look to avenge a loss on the road a season ago to Elon.

Wake Forest's 465 strikeouts through 39 games currently is tops in the ACC and ranks second nationally.
Additionally, the Deacs rank second in the country with a 11.8 K/9 to this point of the 2024 campaign.
In 2024, Wake Forest has struck out at least 10 in 26 contests and 15 or more in eight.

The Deacs struck out a season-high 20 in the Saturday win over Duke.

One of the keys to the Deacs' success last season was scoring first, as Wake Forest went 40-5 in games where they got on the board first.
Under Tom Walter, Wake Forest is 289-116-1 when scoring first, including 16-8 to start the 2024 season.

Wake Forest was the best team in the country in 2023 at drawing a free 90 feet with 424 on the season, good for 11 more than any other team.
With 16 walks during the weekend series against Florida State, Wake has now drawn 249 free passes this season.
The Deacs rank second in the ACC and eighth nationally in the category.
