Wake Forest Finished Day One of the Vertklasse Meet with Two Podium Finishes

Robbie Grace and Megan Cook set new top-10 program marks in their respective events.

HIGH POINT, N.C. - The Wake Forest men's and women's track and field teams wrapped up a successful day at the Vertklasse Meet. The Demon Deacons finished day one with two podium finishes.

In the women's long jump, Robbie Grace claimed first place with a 6.17m jump. Along with the first place finish, Grace set a new personal-best and now holds the second-longest jump in Wake Forest history.

Megan Cook claimed the second podium of the day with a 58.41m hammer throw. Cook's throw was a season-best and the second-longest throw in Wake Forest history. Along with Cook, two other Deacs finished in the top-10 in the women's hammer. Isabella Gera finished fourth with a 55.89m throw and Katrina Andreassen finished seventh with a season-best 52.48m throw.

In the men's hammer, Jacob Goldberg finished eighth with a 57.56m throw. Finally, Abby Stankus finished fourth in the women's high jump with a personal-best 1.59m jump.

The Deacs continue the Vertklasse Meet on Saturday, April 6th at 9:00 a.m. ET, live results can be found here. The meet will also air at 2:30 ET on ESPN+.
