Action is slated to begin Wednesday at 9:14 p.m. ET with Rynard Swanepoel competing in the men’s 800m semifinal.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Following an impressive showing at the NCAA East Preliminaries last weekend, four members of the Wake Forest men's and women's track and field teams will look to make history at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships from June 5-8 in Eugene, Ore. at Hayward Field.

Junior Rynard Swanepoel (800m), freshman Rocky Hansen (5000m), graduate students Leia Braunagel (discus) and Robbie Grace (long jump) will all be making their first-career appearances at the outdoor championships.

In the men's 800m quarterfinals, Swanepoel added on to his impressive 2024 campaign with a first place finish to punch his ticket to Oregon. The junior qualified with a time of 1:45.28, which marked a new personal-best, facility record and program record. His time also ranks as the second-fastest nationally this season. Swanepoel will compete in the semifinals at 9:14 p.m. on Wednesday night with the final taking place Friday at 10:14 p.m. Both days will be shown on ESPN2.

Grace heads to Eugene as the Wake Forest program record holder with a stellar 6.38m long jump, which she achieved at the Beach Invitational in early April. She followed that up with a first-place finish at the Wake Forest Invitational and a podium finish at the ACC Outdoor Championships. The long jump will be streamed live here and will take place at 10 p.m. Thursday night.

Freshman standout Hansen already holds the fifth-fastest 5000m time in program history following his performance at the Wake Forest Invitational on April 19 where he clocked a 13:44.16. In addition to the 5000m, he also excelled in the 1500m, notching second team All-ACC in the event last month. The men's 5000m final is scheduled for a 10:55 p.m. start Friday night on ESPN2.

In the discus, Braunagel has been one of the most consistent performers over the past two seasons. She continues to shatter her own Wake Forest program record, which is currently at 58.79m following her second-place finish at the ACC Outdoor Championships. She is set to compete at 5:05 p.m. eastern time on Saturday with the discus being streamed live here.

Live results can be found here throughout the event. For those looking to attend, tickets can be purchased here.
