Five matchups with Big Four opponents headline Wake Forest’s schedule.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) has unveiled its 2024-25 league schedule for Wake Forest men's basketball this upcoming season, announced on Wednesday.

A total of 10 ACC home games inside Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum make up the Demon Deacons' conference slate, three of which will involve Big Four foes Duke, NC State and North Carolina as opponents.

A Saturday outing versus Boston College at home is up first in conference play for Wake Forest (Dec. 7), followed by a visit to Clemson two weeks later (Dec. 21).

Wake Forest closes 2024 with a trip to Syracuse (Dec. 31) before opening the new year to host NC State for its first Big Four matchup (Jan. 4). The Deacs will then flip between time at home and on the road in games against Miami, Stanford and Virginia Tech during a seven-day span.

The North Carolina Tar Heels come to LJVM Coliseum on Jan. 21 for a Tuesday tilt. Later that same week, Duke will also arrive in Winston-Salem for a Saturday showdown (Jan. 25). Wake Forest will round out the month of January at Louisville (Jan. 28).

After hosting Pitt on the first day of February, the Deacons will travel to the West Coast to take on league newcomers Stanford (Feb. 5) and Cal (Feb. 8). Wake Forest briefly returns home to host Florida State in a midweek showing (Feb. 12) before again getting on the road for action at SMU and NC State. Hosting the Virginia Cavaliers for another midweek test will be the final February appearance by the Deacs (Feb. 26).

Wake Forest will begin March at home versus Notre Dame (March 1) and then head over to nearby Durham for a Monday meeting at Duke two days later (March 3). The regular-season finale will happen inside The Joel Coliseum on March 8, with Georgia Tech as the visitor.

In Case You Missed it
Back in early July, Wake Forest men's basketball released its non-conference schedule. Six such contests will unfold inside LJVM Coliseum, beginning with the season opener on Nov. 4 versus Coppin State.

The team's third appearance of the season takes them to nearby Greensboro for a neutral-site contest versus Michigan on Nov. 10, inside the Greensboro Coliseum. Ticket opportunities for the Sunday 'Deacon-Wolverine Challenge' are available here.

During Thanksgiving break, Wake Forest will travel to The Sunshine State for participation in this year's ESPN Events Invitational, held at the State Farm Field House in Orlando, Fla. The team is primed to first face the Florida Gators, for the second-straight November, in the event's bracket (Nov. 28). A matchup versus either Minnesota or Wichita State will follow during the next day (Nov. 29).

Opening December, the Deacs will visit Texas A&M in the second edition of the SEC/ACC Challenge. The two sides are set to match up for the third time in program history, having last met in College Station for the Quarterfinals of the 2022 National Invitation Tournament.

Additional non-conference contests against North Carolina A&T, USC Upstate, Xavier, Western Carolina, Detroit and James Madison are all scattered across the early portion of the Deacons' winter schedule.

Building on Excellence
Last season, the Deacs defeated five teams that reached the NCAA Tournament including three wins over Elite Eight teams and a win over a Final Four team.

This core provided an exciting environment for Deacon Nation all year long. Wake Forest saw a resurgence in season attendance numbers this season with 164,931 fans packing Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum. This marked the highest total attendance since the 2014-15 season when Wake Forest hosted 174,336 fans during the 2014-15 season.

The 17 home wins this season are the second-most in program history, trailing just the 2021-22 season when the Demon Deacons finished with an impressive home of 18-2:

For the first time since 1995-97, Wake Forest has finished with 10 or more ACC wins in three consecutive seasons. Additionally, the 34 ACC wins during that three-year period marked the most since the 2003-05 run and when the Deacons had 35 ACC wins.

Additionally with the win against Notre Dame in the ACC Tournament, Wake Forest reached the 20-win mark for the second time in the last three years. The 65 wins over the last three seasons mark the most wins in a three-year stretch since the 2002-03 to 2004-05 run.

The Deacs hold an impressive 48-7 record at home since the start of the 2021-22 season including a 17-2 mark last season, the best since having the most home wins in program history during the 2021-22 season when Wake Forest finished with a mark of 18-2.

Additionally, it is the first time since the 2008-09 season that Wake Forest has had one or fewer losses at LJVM Coliseum. The Deacs' overall wins since the start of the 2021-22 season rank second in the country and leads the ACC during that time frame:
