Fans will have six opportunities to check out action inside Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum before the start of conference play.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The early portion of the upcoming 2024-25 season has been set for Wake Forest men's basketball, as the Demon Deacons announced their non-conference schedule on Friday.
Six such contests will unfold inside Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum, beginning with the season opener on Nov. 4 versus Coppin State. Later that same week, Wake Forest will host in-state foe North Carolina A&T (Nov. 7).
The Deacons' third appearance of the season takes them to nearby Greensboro for a neutral-site contest versus Michigan on Nov. 10, inside the Greensboro Coliseum. All fans will have the opportunity to buy tickets for the Sunday game beginning on July 24, with prices starting at just $25. Additionally, season ticket holders, Deacon Club members, and International Leadership Circle members will receive a pre-sale promo code for their priority sales windows opening on July 10.
Wake Forest then returns home for a midweek matchup against USC Upstate (Nov. 13) before traveling for its first true road test of the season – a trip to Xavier University on Nov. 16. An additional pair of home outings, versus Western Carolina (Nov. 19) and Detroit (Nov. 23), are set to follow.
Over Thanksgiving, the Deacs will compete in the ESPN Events Invitiational in Orlando, Florida. Opponents and game times will be announced at a later date.
Opening December, Wake Forest is primed to visit Texas A&M in the second edition of the SEC/ACC Challenge. The two sides will match up for the third time in program history, having last met in College Station for the Quarterfinals of the 2022 National Invitation Tournament.
Two weeks later, Wake Forest will bring James Madison to LJVM Coliseum for its final showing of non-conference action on Dec. 17.
In Case You Missed It
Earlier this year, Wake Forest announced the home and away opponents for the conference slate of the 2024-25 schedule. The Deacs will host all three Big Four schools inside LJVM this season, and will also host newcomer Stanford. In addition, fans can catch matchups against Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, Boston College, Florida State, Pitt and Virginia at home in Winston-Salem.
Official dates and times of conference games will be released at a later date.

Navigating through the Non-Con
Over the past three seasons, dating back to 2021-22, Wake Forest has pieced a 26-7 record versus non-conference opponents through regular-season play. Additionally, the Deacs have gone 28-1 at home against such teams dating back to December 2018.
The 2023-24 season saw the team enjoy a nine-game winning streak from Nov. 24 to Jan. 6 through mainly non-conference competition, in addition to two Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) contests – its best stretch since 2008-09 when the Deacs won 16 consecutive games.
Building on Excellence
The Deacs finished with an overall record of 21-14 in 2023-24, including an 11-9 mark in conference play. The team notched 17 wins at home – which ultimately ended as the second-most in program history, trailing just the 2021-22 season when Wake Forest tallied an impressive home clip of 18-2. Since the start of the 2021-22 campaign, the Deacons have gone 48-7 inside Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
For the first time since 1995-97, Wake Forest has finished with 10 or more ACC wins in three consecutive seasons. Additionally, the 34 ACC wins during that three-year period are the most since the 2003-05 run and when the Deacons had 35 ACC wins.
With a victory against Notre Dame in the 2024 ACC Tournament, Wake Forest reached the 20-win mark for the second time in the last three years. The 65 wins over the last three seasons mark the most victories in a three-year stretch since the 2002-03 to 2004-05 seasons.
A senior trio of Hunter Sallis, Cameron Hildreth and Efton Reid III headlines the 2024-25 roster, as the three combined for 1,365 points and over 3,170 minutes played during the 2023-24 season. Sallis was named Associated Press ACC Newcomer of the Year and First Team All-ACC after leading the team in scoring (18.0 points per game) on shooting splits of 48.7 percent from the field and 40.5 percent from the three-point line. Hildreth averaged 13.8 points per night, good for third-best on the roster, and tallied an 80.4 free throw percentage that ranked 11th among all ACC individuals. Reid finished ninth in the league in both rebounding (7.9/game) and blocks (1.3/game) while adding 9.6 points per outing and six double-doubles for the year.
