
Demon Deacons to Close Out Non-Conference Slate Against Wofford

The Deacs will look to finish the regular season non-con schedule unbeaten.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Wake Forest men's soccer team is set to welcome Wofford to Spry Stadium Tuesday evening in the final non-conference match of the regular season.
The match against the Terriers is slated for 7 p.m. and will be streamed live on ACC Network Extra with live stats available here.

Captain Heating Up
- Started by his first-career hat-trick against Liberty, Cooper Flax has recorded an incredible month on the pitch.
- Flax opened his account on the year against the Flames as he converted from the spot in the second and 16th minutes after freshman forward Chandler Young forced the Liberty keeper into two fouls in the box.
- He completed the hat-trick in the 68th minute with a beautiful free kick from just outside the box to make it 6-0. This marked the 31st hat-trick in program history, the fourth under head coach Bobby Muuss and first since Roald Mitchell accomplished the feat against Furman on Sept. 4, 2023.
- The senior also added an assist on a goal in the 60th minute following his corner, making him the first Deac with seven points in a game since Mitchell did so against Winthrop on Sept. 6, 2022.
- Flax continued his scoring ways against Clemson. The midfielder converted from the penalty spot for the third time in two games with the opener in the 13th minute and went on to record the first multi-assist game of his career.
- Flax added his fifth goal, also a penalty, to win the match in the 86th minute on the road against Cal.
- He is now tied with Lorentz for the team lead with 15 points and leads the team with five assists to go along with his five goals.
- He is one of just three ACC players with five goals and five assists so far this season.
Last Time Out (vs. Louisville)
- Highlighted by the first-career goal for freshman star Alfred Debah, the Wake Forest men's soccer team (6-3-4, 1-3-2 ACC) battled to a 1-1 draw against Louisville (5-5-3, 1-5-1 ACC) at Spry Stadium Friday evening in the program's annual Genna Wiley Memorial Match.
- Debah's strike came after a brilliant ball from sophomore defender Daniel Krueger, as the freshman took a perfect touch and dribbled it just outside the box before letting it rip into the bottom left corner of the net.
- The tally was scored just 28 seconds before the half as Debah became the 13th separate Demon Deacon to record a goal this season. Additionally, it was Krueger's first assist at the collegiate level and his second goal contribution this season, following his goal against Clemson.
- Debah is also the second Wake Forest freshman to score this season, joining Chandler Young.
- The Cardinals found an equalizer in the 69th minute.
- The Demon Deacons finished the match with a 19-to-12 advantage in shots and a 5-to-2 edge in shots on-goal. Additionally, Wake Forest controlled 62 percent of the ball.
- With the point, Wake Forest now sits on five points with two conference matches left to play and moved up to 10th in the standings.
National Leader In Wins
- Named the fourth head coach in program history prior to the start of the 2015 season, Bobby Muuss' Demon Deacon squads have built on the longstanding and rich 45-year history of the program.
- Since 2015, Wake Forest's 158 total wins ranks No. 1 nationally, three more than any program and 10 more than any other ACC program.
- During that span, Wake Forest is also joined only by Indiana as the only Division I programs to have won at least 10 matches every season.

Looking Ahead

- This will mark just the seventh all-time meeting between the two schools with Wake Forest holding a 5-1-0 record against the Panthers dating back to the first meeting in 2013.
- Wake Forest will close out the regular season on Friday, Oct. 31 at home against Notre Dame.
