- Field Hockey:
- No. 6 Wake Forest carries its 13-game winning streak to Durham this weekend, taking on No. 8 Duke on Friday, Oct. 24 at 5 p.m. on ACC Network Extra.
- The Demon Deacons then return home on Sunday, Oct. 26, looking to cap an undefeated home slate during the regular season against App State for Senior Night. Push back against the Mountaineers is set for 12 noon on ACC Network Extra.
- Women's Soccer:
- The No. 17-ranked Wake Forest women's soccer team is prepped for an action-packed week at Spry, beginning with the annual Pink Match this Thursday against Pitt. The Deacs will return to Spry on Sunday for their final home match of the season against the No.1-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
- The Demon Deacons are 9-3-3 and 3-2-2 heading into this Thursday's match, highlighted by an unbeaten mark at home.
- Last time out at Spry Stadium, Wake Forest saw a 1-1 draw against the Louisville Cardinals.
- Freshman Allie Flanagan scored the lone strike, making her the 12th freshman this season to contribute a goal.
- Volleyball:
- Wake Forest continues conference play this week, visiting No. 7 SMU and No. 4 Pitt in the third and fourth contests against nationally-ranked opponents this season.
- The Demon Deacons are coming off their fifth sweep of the fall, downing Clemson in a 3-0 victory this past Sunday during the annual Pink Match.
- Standout libero Emma Farrell has impressed during her senior season, currently ranking second in the league in digs with a 4.19 per-set average.
- Cross Country:
- The Demon Deacons secured their third team victory of the season as they took home top spot at the Arturo Barrios Invitational in College Station.
- Junior Angelina Perez led the way for the Deacs as she finished runner up in the 6k race, clocking a personal-best time of 19:05.4.
- This marked the Ringwood, N.J., native's third top five performance of the season.
- Four other Demon Deacons placed inside the top-25, including a 10th place performance by junior Brooke Wilson, who recorded a time of 19:54.8.
- Senior Elizabeth Whaley recorded a time of 20:13.2 to place 20th, while graduate student Maisie Wilmer finished one place behind her in 21st.
- Senior Mackenzie Hart rounded out the top five finishers for the Deacs, crossing the finish line in 25th at 20:22.9.
- Junior Angelina Perez led the way for the Deacs as she finished runner up in the 6k race, clocking a personal-best time of 19:05.4.
- Wake Forest will now turn its attention to the ACC Cross Country Championships, which will be held on Friday, Oct. 31, at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky.
- The women's race is scheduled to compete in the 6k race at 9:30 a.m.
- The Demon Deacons secured their third team victory of the season as they took home top spot at the Arturo Barrios Invitational in College Station.
- Women's Golf:
- The top-ranked Demon Deacons return to Wilmington, N.C. to compete in the Landfall Tradition for the first time since 2022.
- Last time out at the Landfall CC, the Deacs shot 16 under to grab a runner-up finish.
- This past weekend, Wake Forest wrapped up competition at the Ruth's Chris Invitational.
- At three over par, graduate student Morgan Ketchum grabbed her second top 10 finish of the season and notched 10 total birdies, the fifth most of the competition.
- The top-ranked Demon Deacons return to Wilmington, N.C. to compete in the Landfall Tradition for the first time since 2022.
- Women's Tennis:
- Five total Deacs participated in the ITA Carolina Regional this past week, competing for four days in Chapel Hill.
- During the event, senior Whitley Pate reached a career milestone of 100 combined wins.
- The Deacs totaled seven wins during day one of qualifying play in singles, as Heidi Bulger, Sankavi Gownder and Evie Oxford all moved into the main draw, joining Nevena Carton.
- Whitley Pate and Evie Oxford played well as a pairing in doubles, advancing to the quarterfinals round in the main draw.
- The duo earned their first ranked victory together, knocking off No. 25 Jasmine Conway/Anna Zyryanova of Big Four rival NC State.
- Bulger recorded the most solo victories of any Deac, ending with four.
- Wake Forest will next wait for draws to be unveiled for the ITA Sectional East Sectional Championships (Nov. 6-9).
- Five total Deacs participated in the ITA Carolina Regional this past week, competing for four days in Chapel Hill.
