Luca Pow (singles) as well as Andrew Delgado/DK Suresh Ekambaram (doubles) reached the quarterfinals of their respective draws in Orlando.
ORLANDO, Fla. – Highlighted by quarterfinal runs in both the singles and doubles draws, the Wake Forest men's tennis program concluded its highly-successful fall campaign at the NCAA Individual Championships in Orlando, Fla. Friday afternoon.
Making his NCAA Singles Championships debut, junior Luca Pow made a statement run to the quarterfinals with three ranked wins, including come-from-behind victories over No. 71 Sam Landau (3-6, 6-1, 6-4) in the round of 64 and No. 9 Dylan Dietrich (2-6, 6-4, 6-4) in the round of 16. Of note, the victory over Dietrich was the highest-ranked victory of his career so far.
The Solihull, England-native bowed out in the last eight in a tight battle with No. 18 Paul Inchauspe of Princeton (6-4, 4-6, 2-6).
He became the eighth Demon Deacon in program history to reach the quarterfinals of the singles draw, all of which have come under head coach Tony Bresky.
This also marked the first singles All-American honor of Pow's career after being named a doubles All-American a year ago alongside Luciano Tacchi.
Following a 12-3 fall, Pow finished 2025 with an incredible 45-6 record at collegiate level and now has 78 career singles wins while representing Wake Forest to just 15 losses (.830). Of note, he is 23 wins away from tying David Loewenthal (2001-04) for 10th in program history.
Entering the fall as the No. 92-ranked collegiate singles player in the country, Pow proved he could compete with the best of the best with a team-high six ranked wins.
Additionally, he is now one win shy of 150 combined singles and doubles wins throughout his career.
Elsewhere, DK Suresh Ekambaram continued to reinforce his status as one of the nation's elite players with another standout performance in Orlando and advancing to the round of 16 to secure singles All-American honors for the second-straight season.
With straight-set wins over Alabama's Matic Kriznik (6-3, 6-4) and No. 17 Devin Badenhorst of Baylor (7-6[4], 6-4), Suresh became just the fifth player in Wake Forest history to earn multiple singles All-America selections and first to do so since Petros Chrysochos (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019) and Borna Gojo (2017, 2018, 2019).
Wake Forest was one of only three schools with multiple players in the singles round of 16, alongside Virginia and Michigan State. It also marked the fourth time the Deacs accomplished this and first since 2018, when Gojo and Chrysochos both appeared in the final.
With Pow and Suresh both garnering the honors, 19 of the program's 23 singles All-American seasons have come under Bresky.
In doubles, redshirt freshman Andrew Delgado teamed up with Suresh as the dynamic duo powered their way to the quarterfinals, securing Doubles All-American status along the way.
The pair took down two top-30 opponents in No. 20 B. Blaydes/F. Blaydes (Auburn) and No. 28 Velcz/Van Schalkwyk (Baylor) to reach the last eight before falling in a tiebreak to Penn's No. 67 Sandler/Graziani.
Now with 81-career doubles wins for Wake Forest, Suresh is just three behind Todd Paul (2003-07) for the 10th most in program history. His doubles win percentage for the Deacs is at a stellar 84.4 percent since he arrived in the fall of 2023.
Suresh has also been named a doubles All-American with four different doubles partners since arriving in Winston-Salem, the most in program history.
Sophomore Joaquin Guilleme also concluded an impressive breakout fall season, finishing with six singles wins in addition to reaching quarterfinals of the ITA East Sectional, where he secured wins over Cornell's Rodrigo Fernandes and Harvard's Valdemar Pape. He booked his spot in the individual championships with a 7-5, 7-5 win over Mans Dahlberg in the quarterfinal playoff.
On Tuesday, Guilleme delivered a competitive effort in Orlando before falling to No. 5-ranked Jay Friend of Arizona in the Round of 64 (4-6, 6-3, 1-6).
