Wake Forest Faces Northeastern in Black Friday Matinee

The Demon Deacons continue a three-game homestand hosting the Huskies for a 12 noon tip.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - After a 48-point victory to begin the week, the Wake Forest men's basketball team (5-2, 0-0 ACC) will return to action on Friday hosting Northeastern (3-3, 0-0 CAA) at LJVM Coliseum. 

The meeting between the Demon Deacons and Huskies will tip at 12 noon and be streamed on ACC Network Extra. 

Last Time Out
Behind an outstanding defensive effort, Wake Forest defeated Campbell on Tuesday night, 99-51.

The Demon Deacons held the Camels to 16-of-59 (27.1 percent) from the floor, the fourth-lowest opponent shooting percentage during the Steve Forbes era. Additionally, the Deacs continued their outstanding three-point defense as Campbell connected on just 4-of-26 (15.4 percent) shots from beyond the arc.

Offensively, four Demon Deacons scored in double-figures while the team shot an outstanding 34-of-62 (54.8 percent) from the field, including 12-of-29 (41.4 percent) from three-point range.

Sophomore guard Juke Harris led the Demon Deacons with 17 points on 6-of-12 shooting. The Salisbury, N.C., native also added six rebounds and an assist while connecting on five threes. Senior guard Mekhi Mason started the game on fire, as he recorded 14 of his 16 points in the first half. Overall, the Gilbert, Ariz., native finished one rebound shy of a double-double as he recorded nine boards, as well as two assists and a block.

Wake Forest men's basketball has built one of college basketball's premier home court advantages over the last five seasons, as the Demon Deacons have collected a 65-10 at LJVM Coliseum since 2021—tied nationally for the fourth-most home wins over that period.

Defending The Three 
After finishing last season with the ACC's top three-point defense, the Demon Deacons have once again made it difficult on opponents from downtown so far this season. So far this season, Wake Forest's opponents have gone a combined 52-of-198 from behind the three-point arc including allowing Campbell to make just 4-of-26 attempts.

In Elite Company 
Sophomore guard Juke Harris has continued his elite play to begin the season, as the Salisbury, N.C., native recorded the first two double-doubles of his career last week against No. 15 Texas Tech (26 points, 10 rebounds) and Memphis (10 points, 10 rebounds). 

Through Tuesday's action, Harris is just one of five players nationally averaging 20 points and seven rebounds per game while shooting 55 percent or better from the field.

Electricity Off The Bench 
With his back-to-back 19-point performances against Memphis and No. 15 Texas Tech in the Bahamas, junior guard Myles Colvin is averaging 12.7 points per game so far this season – most off the bench in the ACC this season. 

In Tuesday's win over Campbell, Colvin contributed 13 points on 4-of-8 shooting. It marked his fifth-straight game scoring 13 or more points.
