Houston and Conrad Earn Preseason Accolades; Deacs Open Season as Top 20 Team

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – With a week left until Opening Day at David F. Couch Ballpark, junior's Marek Houston and Ethan Conrad continued to earn preseason recognition and the Deacs were ranked in the top 20 of all five major college baseball polls.
A Third Team All-ACC selection as a sophomore, Houston led the team with a .326 batting average and recorded 72 hits, 39 RBIs, and eight home runs in 2024.

Conrad joins the Deacs from Marist where he hit .335 with 45 extra-base hits as a sophomore and took home the 2024 Summer Breaker Prospect for his performance in the Cape Cod League by D1 Baseball. The new Deac tallied a team-high 88 hits, including 26 extra-base hits (nine HRs, 18 2Bs, 13 3Bs) and drove in 52 RBI and scored 55 runs during the 2023 season at Marist.

Additionally, Wake Forest opens the 2025 season ranked in all five major polls, marking the third-straight year the Demon Deacons have opened the season in the top 25.
