No. 9 Wake Forest Heads to Hilton Head for Darius Rucker Intercollegiate

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - Following a second-place finish at the Moon Golf Invitational, the No. 9 Wake Forest women's golf team will travel to Hilton Head, S.C. for the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate hosted by South Carolina. Tournament play begins on Monday, Mar. 3 and will conclude Wednesday, Mar. 5.

This is the 13th installment of the event, during which the Deacs swept both team and individual titles in 2020 and 2022. Senior Carolina Chacarra won the event as a freshman in 2022. During her freshman campaign in 2024, Macy Pate snagged a top-10 finish for the Deacs and finished T9 overall and one under on the weekend.

Three Deacs entered the weekend ranked top 100 via Scoreboard: Carolina Chacarra (No. 5), Macy Pate (No. 84), and Anne-Sterre den Dunnen (No. 88).

Round one for the Deacons begins at 11:20 a.m. ET with No. 2 Arkansas and Ohio State.

Success in the Sunshine State
The Deacs are coming off of a second-place finish at the Moon Golf Invitational hosted by Louisville in Melbourne, Fla. two weeks ago. Junior Anne-Sterre den Dunnen claimed her first career top-five finish after shooting five under par on day two of the tournament. Graduate Sky Sload and freshman Chloe Kovelesky both finished the final round five under 72 to secure the Deacs runner-up spot.
