Welcome to Wake Forest, Ivana Cvetkovic!
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest volleyball has added Ivana Cvetkovic to its roster for the 2025 fall season, announced by head coach Jeff Hulsmeyer on Tuesday.
A native of Belgrade, Serbia, Cvetkovic will join the Demon Deacons as a true freshman this upcoming school year.
"Ivana is a tremendous player, adding skill and depth to our team in the middle hitter position," said Hulsmeyer. "In Europe, they play by skill level instead of age, in contrast to how we do here in the States. So, she has played with many veteran players and against many older players that share their experience and expertise with her. Competing against that level of competition will also prepare her for the difficult challenge of ACC volleyball. There is always a cultural adaptation for international players, however, I expect Ivana to make an impact for us. I can't express how grateful I am to her and her parents for trusting us with her academic and athletic future."
Standing at 6'3" as a presence in the middle, Cvetkovic has competed for OK Obilić, a renowned volleyball club in Serbia founded in 1953 that has produced a number of talented rosters each season. In the classroom, she attends Fifth Belgrade Grammar School.
Cvetkovic joins a group of incoming Wake Forest freshmen, alongside right-side hitter Sadie Poeck and middle blocker Kelis Hawkins – the pair officially signed with the Deacs this past November.
Why Wake?:
"I chose this university because of the strong volleyball program and academic reputation, along with its excellent programs and the excellent opportunities it offers. I want to grow as a person, but as a player also. I want to improve my volleyball skills and look forward to developing relationships with everybody at Wake Forest." - Ivana Cvetkovic
Personal
Ivana is the daughter of Marijana and Branislav Cvetkovic. She has two younger siblings, Mina (17) and Nemanja (13). She holds an interest in studying business during her time at Wake Forest.
