The Madrid, Spain native shot her lowest round of the tournament in Saturday’s final.

AUGUSTA, Ga. - In her first time competing in the final round at Augusta National, senior Carolina Chacarra carded a 68 (-4) during the final round at Augusta National to secure a top-10 finish.

During the previous two rounds held at Champions Retreat, Chacarra shot two under par to place herself within the cutline and T17 among the field. Despite Augusta National's difficulty, the three-time All-ACC faced it head-on and recorded her lowest round of the event.

She remained an even par through the first front nine and despite a bogey on hole 10, put up an incredible stretch of three back-to-back birdies through the famous 'Amen Corner' to keep herself within top-10 contention. Amen Corner consists of holes 11, 12, and 13 and is known as one of the most recognizable three-hole stretches in golf and considered a pivotal moment in the Masters Tournament, per the Masters.

Chacarra continued her confident play throughout the remainder of the back nine with an eagle on the par-5 15th, bringing her to four strokes under for the day. With a total score of 210 (-6), she finished ninth overall in her first and final Augusta National appearance.

"Just being here, it's like a gift for all of the hard work that I've put in throughout the year," said the senior. "I teed off and I thought 'I just want to enjoy it'. It's my first time here playing Augusta [National] during a competitive round and I just wanted to make the most of it and take it all in."

Also to note, Chacarra is among two other Spaniards in the top-10, marking only the second time in tournament history that three players representing one country or territory have been inside the top-10.

Since its inception, Wake Forest has had a player in five out of six years inside the top-10 at Augusta National, most recently with Wake Forest women's golf alum Rachel Kuehn, who finished T8 in 2024.
