Wake Forest Women’s Golf Ready for Seventh-Straight NCAA Championship Appearance

5/15/2025 7:03:00 PM | Women's Golf

The Demon Deacons are in search of their second NCAA Championship in three years.

CARLSBAD, Calif. - For the seventh consecutive year, Wake Forest women's golf is set to compete for the NCAA DI Women's Golf Championship at La Costa Country Club in Carlsbad, Calif. beginning Friday, May 16.

The Demon Deacons are coming off of a first-place finish at the NCAA Lubbock Regional, where they finished four strokes ahead of the field to punch their ticket to California. Four-time All-ACC team member Carolina Chacarra also secured the individual title, her second of the season and fourth of her career with a three-round under-par score of 7-under.

For Dutch-native Anne-Sterre den Dunnen, the Lubbock Regional marked her first postseason regional appearance and this upcoming week will mark her first NCAA Championship appearance. The junior – who was a member of the 2023 National Championship squad – showed her veteran grit during the Texas tournament after beginning her regional 5-over par, but shot 3-under through two rounds to finish in the top-10.

Two Demon Deacons made their postseason debut this past week in freshmen Sarah Lydic and Chloe Kovelesky, as both strung together impressive performances at the ACC Championship.

During regionals, Kovelesky shot 2-under during the three-day tournament and recorded seven total birdies in the third round to secure a third-place finish.

Graduate Sky Sload will re-enter the lineup for the first time since round one of ACC Championships. The Keswick, Va. native shot her best round of the season during the Moon Golf Invitational at 3-under par.

This marks the second consecutive season that the NCAA Championship is being held at La Costa Country Club.

Live scoring will be available via Scoreboard and a full recap with results following each day's play will be posted on GoDeacs.com.

Match Play Marvels

Their most recent victory came at the 2025 ACC Championship against the No. 1 Stanford Cardinal to advance Wake Forest to the final round of the conference championship. Since the introduction of the match play format in 2015, the Demon Deacons are 5-1 in NCAA championship match play action.
