The two-time ANWA invitee ranks in the top 100 on the Women’s Amateur Golf Ranking.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Following the recent addition of rising senior Morgan Ketchum to the upcoming season's roster, Wake Forest women's golf has added Auburn-transfer Casey Weidenfeld to the Deacon squad for the 2025-26 year.
Hailing from Pembroke Pines, Fla., the redshirt-senior has spent the past three years with the Auburn Tigers. As a redshirt-freshman, she earned multiple conference honors as SEC Freshman of the Week and SEC All-Freshman Team. The 2023 WGCA All-American scholar highlighted her first-ever competition for the Tigers by clinching the East Lake Cup semifinal victory over Oregon and posted a 73.33 scoring average through events.
Named to the 2024 All-SEC Second Team, Weidenfeld recorded four top-10 individual finishes and a 72.35 scoring average during the 2023-24 season. During her sophomore year, she carded 112 birdies, the second-most in a single season in program history, and 16 rounds under par, tied for the most in a single season in program history.
This past year, Weidenfeld began her season with a top-five finish at the Fall Schooner Classic and helped lead the Tigers to a second-place team finish. She followed that performance with another four-under-par tournament and a top-20 finish at the Illini Invitational.
In April, she made her second championship start at the Augusta Women's National Amateur. During the 2024 ANWA, she shot two-under-par (214) in her debut to finish T5 overall.
Prior to her time on the Plains, the south Florida native showed dominance in her junior career, earning AJGA Rolex Junior All-American Honorable Mention team twice. A three-time AJGA winner, she was also a member of the winning 2021 AJGA Wyndham Cup East Team. In 2020, she won the AJGA Girls Championship and set both the course and 18-hole record at 11-under-par.
Coach's Comments:
"We are excited to have Casey join the team. I have watched her for many years and admired her game from afar. Having a seasoned, mature player will add to our already talented roster. " - head coach Kim Lewellen
