This marks his second national coach of the year award and the 16th overall in Wake Forest history.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Fresh off of winning his second NCAA championship last month, Wake Forest men's tennis head coach Tony Bresky has won ITA National Coach of the Year, as announced by the organization Friday morning.
This marks Bresky's second ITA National Coach of the Year award, with the first coming in 2018. This comes after his sixth ITA Carolina Regional Coach of the Year honor earlier this week.
"It's a great honor to be named ITA National Coach of the Year," Bresky said. "We have so many excellent coaches across the country. I'm very humbled by this award. I think for me it's much more of a team award than it is an individual award. I'm very thankful to Brian (Baker) and Vinny (Gillespie) for the friends and the coaches they are. Together, we make a fantastic coaching team. Also a huge thanks to all of our players because they're really the ones who make it happen. Without them I wouldn't be a good coach"
Bresky is now the fifth Wake Forest head coach to win multiple national coach of the year awards, joining Kim Lewellen (women's golf), Jay Vidovich (men's soccer), Jen Averill (field hockey) and Jesse Haddock (men's golf).
This also marks the 16th overall national coach of the year in Wake Forest history, with 12 of those coming since the turn of the century. The Demon Deacons have three active national coach of the year winners in Bresky, Averill and Lewellen. The three have combined for seven national honors during their time in Winston-Salem.

This season, Bresky led Wake Forest to its second NCAA championship, second ITA National Team Indoor Championship and fourth ACC regular season title. Individually in 2025, Bresky coached five All-ACC members and four All-Americans.
Wake Forest's Team Success Under Bresky
Earlier this week, he saw Stefan Dostanic named ITA Carolina Regional Senior Player of the Year and Charlie Robertson named ITA Carolina Regional Rookie of the Year.
The Demon Deacons finished the 2025 campaign with a program and ACC record 40 wins, with 25 coming against ranked opponents. Wake Forest separated itself from the rest of the competition by earning 11 victories against top-10 opponents and seven against teams inside the top five.
Wake Forest also recorded an incredible 79-21 mark in doubles, taking 38 of the 41 possible opening points this season. The 38 doubles points this campaign is believed to be an NCAA record. In singles, the Deacs went a combined 138-42 as they set program records in both singles and doubles victories.
Bresky became the third coach in Wake Forest history to win multiple national championships, joining Jen Averill (Field Hockey) and Jesse Haddock (Men's Golf).
During his tenure at Wake Forest, Bresky has amassed 369 wins, making him the winningest head coach in program history.
