Five or more Deacs have now picked up academic honors for five consecutive years.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Wake Forest women's tennis earned strong recognition from the Atlantic Coast Conference office on Monday, as five Demon Deacons were tabbed to the 2025 Women's Tennis All-ACC Academic Team.
Nevena Carton, Sankavi Gownder, Makayla Mills, Kady Tannenbaum and Anna Zhang all represented on this year's academic team.
The program has now had five or more members named All-ACC Academic for five consecutive years.
"Congratulations to our academic honorees," said head coach Jeff Wyshmer. "I'm really proud of each of them and our entire team's commitment to being successful Wake Forest student-athletes both on the court and in the classroom. Our program is built on the premise of having an incredible experience on the team, seeing how much you can grow as a player and getting a great education that ends with a Wake Forest degree. Nevena, Sankavi, Makayla, Kady and Anna excelled in doing that as recognized by receiving this honor. Go Deacs!"
It was a third-straight yearly honor for Carton while Gownder repeated from a year ago. Being newcomers to the roster this past season, Mills, Tannenbaum and Zhang each placed on the list for the first time as Deacs.
