The 2025 National Champions stole the show on their home courts at the ATP 250 event.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - It was a memorable week for Wake Forest men's tennis both on and off the court, as the Demon Deacons made their mark at the Winston-Salem Open while also celebrating the 2025 National Championship.

On Monday evening, the 2025 squad was honored with its national championship rings during a special ceremony at the Wake Forest Tennis Center. The celebration came just before Demon Deacon standout Stefan Dostanic headlined the evening session at the ATP 250 event.

It marked Dostanic's ATP Tour debut, and he made the most of it. The 2025 NCAA Tournament MVP earned his first-career tour-level victory with a commanding 6-4, 6-2 win over world No. 93 Aleksandar Vukic in the Round of 64.

He pushed defending Winston-Salem Open champion and world No. 35 Lorenzo Sonego in the Round of 32 before falling in a thrilling three-setter, 6-3, 6(2)-7, 7-6(3). He saved three match points in the third set to force the tiebreak.

Dostanic will return to action next week in the main draw of the US Open.

DK Suresh Ekambaram battled through qualifying to earn a spot in his first-career ATP Tour main draw, earning two impressive victories. He defeated Aidan Mayo (#300) 6-3, 6-4 before rallying past world No. 126 Alejandro Tabilo 1-6, 7-6(4), 6-3 on Sunday. Earlier this year, Tabilo had taken down tennis icon Novak Djokovic in Monte Carlo (6-3, 6-4).

With the result, Suresh has now collected three wins over top-150 opponents in the last three weeks, after defeating Billy Harris (#146) and Mark Lajal (#147) in Lexington. He inevitably fell to No. 74 Mariano Navone in the Round of 64.

Of note, Suresh reached a career-high ATP world ranking of No. 645 following his two qualifying round victories.

In doubles, Suresh and Luca Pow reunited after last year's memorable run to the semifinals of the Winston-Salem Open. This year, the duo once again showcased their chemistry, pushing ATP veterans and No. 1-seeded Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski to the brink before falling 6-3, 3-6, [10-8] in the Round of 16.

Pow also competed in singles qualifying on Saturday, battling Vukic before falling 6-3, 6-4.

The dynamic duo will be back to representing Wake Forest at the collegiate level this fall, beginning with the ITA All-American Championships (Sept. 20-28) in Tulsa, Okla. The full Wake Forest men's tennis fall schedule can be found here.
