This is the first time since 2017-18 that the Demon Deacons have opened the season with two different medalists.

LAKE BLUFF, Ill. - Junior Macy Pate fired a career-low 54-hole score to claim the individual title and lead the Demon Deacons into a championship final at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup at Shoreacres in Lake Bluff, Ill.

Wake Forest faced difficulty through the first nine holes of the day, and entered the turn six over par and in third place. The team, however, would not stay there for long. The Demon Deacons put up 10 birdies and a hole-in-one on the back nine to post their best round of the tournament and push them into the top seed heading into tomorrow's championship match.

Pate began the final round with a one-shot lead and battled with Oregon's Kiara Romero all day long for the title. From hole four onwards, the Winston-Salem native recorded par or better and tallied five birdies in the round. Her 14 total birdies across three rounds - the most in the field - propelled her to her first collegiate title at eight under par.

Just one spot behind Pate, sophomore Chloe Kovelesky tied for a runner-up finish with back-to-back rounds under par. She recorded just one bogey in the final round and finished two under for the day and four under overall, marking a career-low 54-hole score for her as well.

With her best round of the competition, graduate student Morgan Ketchum penciled in the final under-par score for the Demon Deacons and added another top-15 finish to her career and the second of the season.

Senior Anne-Sterre den Dunnen matched her first-round score with a two-over-par finish and tallied four birdies to earn another top-25 finish. Graduate student Casey Weidenfeld highlighted her competition with a fourth career hole-in-one on hole 12 and also secured a top-25 finish for the Demon Deacons.

Match Play Madness
The Demon Deacons will take on No. 1 Stanford in tomorrow afternoon's championship match play final. The two conference rivals last met in match play during the semifinals of the 2025 ACC Championship, where Wake Forest defeated Stanford to advance to the championship final.
