Demon Deacons to Travel to Sunshine State for First ACC Road Matches

Wake Forest opens its first ACC road trip against Miami on Friday, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m., before facing Florida State on Sunday, Oct. 4, at 1 p.m.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Wake Forest volleyball team is set to continue its ACC slate this weekend as it hits the road for the first time in conference play to face Miami and Florida State.
The Demon Deacons open their road trip on Friday, Oct. 2, as they face the Hurricanes at 7 p.m. at the Freeman Indoor Stadium. The Deacs will then travel to Tallahassee to take on the Seminoles on Sunday, Oct. 4, at 1 p.m. at Tully Gymnasium.
Both matches will be streamed live on ACC Network Extra.

Freshman Lyla Stewart has shone for the Demon Deacons in her freshman campaign, totaling 142 kills and 105 digs, both of which rank second on the team this season. Stewart has also notched a team-high 12 service aces and 13 blocks.
The Powell, Ohio, native has caught fire as of late, having recorded double-digit kills in four straight matches. Stewart has totaled 72 kills during that span, including 19 kills against Duke and a career-high 24 kills against No. 24 North Carolina.

Senior libero Andrea Roman has been one of the top defensive players in the ACC this season. Roman, who ranked second in the country in digs last season, has tallied 223 digs thus far, which leads the ACC. Additionally, the Humacao, Puerto Rico, native currently sits fourth in the conference with 3.84 digs per set.
