Seventeen Named to NFHCA 2025 Division I National Academic Squad

The Demon Deacons are one of four ACC programs with 15 or more student-athletes recognized.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Wake Forest field hockey student-athletes continued the program's academic excellence as 17 were named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I National Academic Squad, as announced by the organization on Wednesday morning.

Sponsored by OPA Winning Teams, the NFHCA National Academic Squad program honors undergraduate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher through the fall semester, nominated by their NFHCA member coaches.

Nearly 70 percent of Wake Forest's 2025 squad received the prestigious accolade, ranking fourth in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Additionally, this marked Amelia Frey and Rachel Thetford's fourth-straight year on the list.

This national recognition comes on the heels of Wake Forest's third straight year of 10 or more Demon Deacons being named to the All-ACC Academic Team.
