- Women's Tennis:
- The Demon Deacons are coming off a thrilling top-50 victory to close out non-conference play, as Wake Forest defeated No. 42 Princeton 4-3 on the road this past weekend.
- Wake Forest took an early lead with a pair of wins in doubles. Nevana Carton and partner Kady Tannenbaum downed No. 87 Tsehay Driscoll and Pearlie Zhang to begin the day, giving the Deacs the early advantage.
- Shortly after, Evie Oxford and Sankavi Gownder secured the opening point for the Deacs with a win of their own on court two.
- Carton's brilliant day continued when she beat No. 79 Alice Ferlito in first singles. It is her second consecutive ranked win after beating Amalie Van Impe of SMU last weekend. Carton completed a perfect 2-0 day in her homecoming match, beating nationally ranked opponents in both doubles and singles.
- After dropping the first set, 6-4, Gownder leveled the match after a hard-fought second set. The junior would come up clutch in the third set to earn the Deacs the road win. The final would end up reading 4-6, 7-6, 7-5 in favor of Gownder.
- Women's Golf:
- The Demon Deacons completed the Charles Schwab Women's Collegiate Invitational tied for third place on Tuesday afternoon.
- Wake Forest was led by Macy Pate and Anne-Sterre Den Dunnen, who tied for 12th place at +4.
- The Deacs will now turn their attention to postseason play, as the ACC Championship is set to take place April 16-19 in Wilmington, N.C.
- Women's Basketball:
- With nine wins to start the season, Wake Forest had its best start since the 2008-09 season, when the Deacs had 12 wins to start the season as it concluded last week. Additionally, the Demon Deacons were the last undefeated in the ACC and one of just 28 teams in the country to win their first nine games of the season.
- Wake Forest forced 10 or more takeaways 97 times in the last 100 games, a stretch dating back to January of 2022. Through 32 games, the Demon Deacons forced 14.0 turnovers per game.
- In 32 games, the Demon Deacons totaled 539 assists on 790 field goals (68.2 percent) which was the highest percentage in a single season within the Megan Gebbia era.
- Track & Field:
- The Wake Forest Track and Field program concluded a solid performance at the Bob Davidson Team Challenge, highlighted by three Demon Deacons securing top-10 program marks in the women's shot put on Saturday afternoon.
- Sophomore Jazmine Thompson led the way for the Demon Deacons as she claimed a pair of top-10 marks in both the women's discus and women's shot put.
- The Harlingen, Texas, native opened the day by recording a distance of 15.00 meters en route to a third-place finish in the shot put. Thompson would later secure fourth place in the discus throw after notching a personal-best throw of 46.95 meters. With the results, Thompson now sits seventh all-time in school history for both events.
- Senior Casey Sullivan also recorded a top-10 mark in the women's shot put, logging a personal-best toss of 14.91 meters to move into eighth in Wake Forest history.
- Junior Seren Rodgers concluded a solid individual showing at the Bob Davidson Challenge by securing a top five finish in the women's 100 meter hurdles. The Taunton, England, native crosses the line in 14.20 seconds, pushing her into seventh in school history.
- Sophomore Jazmine Thompson led the way for the Demon Deacons as she claimed a pair of top-10 marks in both the women's discus and women's shot put.
- The Wake Forest Track and Field program concluded a solid performance at the Bob Davidson Team Challenge, highlighted by three Demon Deacons securing top-10 program marks in the women's shot put on Saturday afternoon.
