The Demon Deacons will host Navy, Gardner-Webb and Old Dominion at the Winston-Salem Regional this weekend (May 1-2).
INDIANAPOLIS – A year removed from the program's second NCAA title, the Wake Forest men's tennis team will look to defend its crown in 2026 as it earned the No. 1 overall seed in this year's tournament, as announced by the NCAA Monday afternoon.
Wake Forest will open the tournament facing Navy on Friday, May 1 at 5 p.m., with the winner moving on to face either Gardner-Webb or Old Dominion on Saturday (May 2) at 5 p.m. All matches will be played at the Wake Forest Tennis Center.
The top-eight seed means the Demon Deacons could host all the way to the quarterfinals for the third-consecutive season. Home court advantage has been huge for Wake Forest over the last two years and throughout Tony Bresky's tenure, as it holds the longest home winning streak in the nation at 46-consecutive games going back to 2024. Additionally, the Deacs' 242 home wins since 2013 lead the country.
Monday's nod marked the Demon Deacons' 13th-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and their 25th all-time. Under the direction of head coach Tony Bresky, Wake Forest has advanced past the first round of the tournament in each of the last 11 seasons and have made the semifinals in the last two.
The quarterfinals (May 14), semifinals (May 16) and championship match (May 17) will be played at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Georgia.

ACC Dominance
Fresh off capturing the ACC Championship, Wake Forest enters the NCAA Tournament riding one of the most dominant stretches in collegiate tennis history. The Demon Deacons carry a 30-3 overall record into tournament play, marking their third consecutive 30-win season and further solidifying the current era under head coach Tony Bresky as one of sustained national excellence.
Wake Forest completed the ACC "double" for the third time in program history this season, securing both the regular season and tournament titles while extending its trophy haul under Bresky to 13. The Deacs have consistently performed at the highest level, reaching their eighth ACC Tournament final under Bresky and winning four of their last five appearances in the championship match.
Award Season
Wake Forest's dominance throughout the spring was further recognized on the conference stage on Thursday, as the Demon Deacons claimed major ACC honors and placed five student-athletes across the All-ACC teams. Head coach Tony Bresky was named ACC Coach of the Year for the fourth time in his career, while freshman Mees Rottgering earned ACC Freshman of the Year honors following a standout debut campaign.
Bresky's latest honor comes on the heels of another historic season, guiding the Demon Deacons to a 30-3 record, an ACC double and his 400th career victory at Wake Forest. Meanwhile, Rottgering emerged as one of the league's most dynamic newcomers, posting a 14-3 record with six ranked wins and playing a pivotal role in the Deacs' ACC Championship run.
The All-ACC recognition extended across the lineup, with Luca Pow and Rottgering earning Second Team singles honors, DK Suresh Ekambaram landing on the Third Team, and two doubles pairs, Suresh/Andrew Delgado (First Team) and Rottgering/Kacper Szymkowiak (Third Team), highlighting one of the nation's most dominant doubles units
The Demon Deacons' success has been fueled by elite depth and consistency across the lineup. Wake Forest has claimed the doubles point in 22 consecutive matches and an impressive 30 times this season, setting the tone early in nearly every contest.
