The Peoria, Ariz., native spent the past two seasons at Northern Colorado and Kansas City.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest men's basketball has announced the addition of transfer forward Ring Nyeri. A rising junior, Nyeri competed for Northern Colorado during the 2025-26 season following his freshman campaign at Kansas City.
The Peoria, Ariz., native has played at the forward positions as an athletic, versatile force on the court.
"What has impressed me the most about Ring is the way he plays the game of basketball with tremendous passion, energy and enthusiasm," said head coach Steve Forbes. "He is the first person on the floor every time the ball is loose. Ring is all over the offensive glass and can score the ball inside and out. His length causes havoc on defense creating steals and deflections. We are excited to have him in our program."
Nyeri appeared in 32 games for the Bears this past winter, making 24 starts. He averaged 8.5 points per game and also led Northern Colorado with a team-high 6.3 rebounds. Nyeri's efficiency was on full display all season long, posting a 53.6 field goal percentage.
Additionally, he shot 35.3 percent from three-point distance and finished with 28 blocks.
Nyeri tallied a double-digit point total 13 times during the 2025-26 season, including a five-game stretch from Jan. 31 to Feb. 14.
That same stretch began with a season-high 23 points on 10-for-15 shooting against Eastern Washington. Additional standout performances from Nyeri's sophomore year included:
As a freshman for Kansas City in 2024-25, Nyeri played in 32 games with an average of 13.2 minutes per contest. Defensively, Nyeri ranked second on the Roos' roster in blocks (21).
He impressed in his collegiate debut against Kansas Christian with 14 points and four rebounds on a 4-for-8 shooting mark from the field. Nyeri also recorded 12 points in wins over Calvary and Wichita State.
Nyeri has earned recognition for his efforts off the court as well, being named to the 2026 CSC Academic All-District Team.
